Advent For You

DAY 1 OF 5

Expecting the unexpected

What do you look forward to the most this Christmas? Is it the food? The gifts? Taking days off school? Some people look forward to the Christmas season all year long!

But it wasn’t always like that. That first Christmas night, there were shepherds watching sheep in the cold night. It was like any other night. No special plans. No gifts. No dinner. Just a dark sky, and smelly sheep to look after.

Then a light broke through, and angels appeared. They told the shepherds they were missing out on the best Christmas party ever! The savior of the world had been born, and they were on the guest list to celebrate.

That was the last dark night those shepherds saw. Even on the blackest night, they knew light had come into the world.

A man named Isaiah talked about that night 700 years before it happened. He said, “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine… For a child is born to us, a son is given to us… And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

What if this Christmas could breakthrough in your life with something completely unexpected? What if it would mean more, satisfy more, and last longer than a mere few days out of the year?

Discover the power Christmas could have in your life in these next four days. You might find there’s much more to look forward to this season.
