Isaiah 62
62
Zion’s Restoration
1I will not keep silent because of Zion,
and I will not keep still because of Jerusalem, # Ps 83:1; Is 64:12; 65:6
until her righteousness shines like a bright light # Is 1:26; 58:8; 61:11
and her salvation, like a flaming torch.
2Nations will see your righteousness # Is 60:3
and all kings, your glory.
You will be called by a new name
that the Lord’s mouth will announce. # Is 60:14; Rv 2:17; 3:12
3You will be a glorious crown in the Lord’s hand,
and a royal diadem in the palm of your God. # Is 28:5; Zch 9:16; 1Th 2:19
4You will no longer be called Deserted, # Is 54:6-7; 60:15,18
and your land will not be called Desolate;
instead, you will be called My Delight is in Her, # Or Hephzibah
and your land Married; # Or Beulah # Hs 2:19-20
for the Lord delights in you,
and your land will be married.
5For as a young man marries a young woman,
so your sons will marry you;
and as a groom rejoices # Lit and the rejoicing of the groom over his bride,
so your God will rejoice over you. # Is 65:19
6Jerusalem,
I have appointed watchmen on your walls; # Is 52:8; Jr 6:17; Ezk 3:17; 33:7
they will never be silent, day or night.
There is no rest for you,
who remind the Lord.
7Do not give Him rest
until He establishes and makes Jerusalem
the praise of the earth. # Is 60:18; Jr 33:9; Zph 3:19-20
8The Lord has sworn with His right hand
and His strong arm:
I will no longer give your grain
to your enemies for food, # Lv 26:16; Dt 28:31,33; Jdg 6:3-6; Is 1:7; Jr 5:17
and foreigners will not drink your new wine
you have labored for.
9For those who gather grain will eat it
and praise the Lord,
and those who harvest the grapes will drink the wine
in My holy courts.
10Go out, go out through the gates;
prepare a way for the people!
Build it up, build up the highway; # Is 11:16; 19:23; 35:8; 49:11; 57:14
clear away the stones!
Raise a banner for the peoples. # Is 11:10,12; 49:22
11Look, the Lord has proclaimed
to the ends of the earth,
“Say to Daughter Zion: # Mt 21:5; Zch 9:9
Look, your salvation is coming,
His reward is with Him, # Is 40:10; Rv 22:12
and His gifts accompany Him.”
12And they will be called # Lit will call them the Holy People, # Dt 7:6; Is 4:3; 1Pt 2:9
the Lord’s Redeemed;
and you will be called Cared For,
A City Not Deserted.

Isaiah 62
62
LXII
1For Zion's sake I will not keep silence,
And for the sake of Jerusalem I will not rest,
Until her righteousness go forth as brightness;
And her salvation like a torch that burneth.
2And the nations shall see thy righteousness,
And all kings thy glory;
And thou shalt be called by a new name,
Which the mouth of Jehovah shall name.
3Thou shalt also be a beautiful crown in the hand of Jehovah,
And a royal diadem in the palm of the hand of thy God.
4Thou shalt no more be termed, Forsaken;
Neither shall thy land any more be termed, Desolate;
But thou shalt be called, The object of my delight;
And thy land, The wedded matron:
For Jehovah shall delight in thee,
And thy land shall be joined in marriage.
5For as a young man marrieth a virgin,
So shall thy sons marry thee,
And as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride,
So shall thy God rejoice over thee.
6I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem!
All the day and all the night long they shall not keep silence.
Ye that make mention of Jehovah, keep not silence,
7And give Him no rest,
Till He establish, and till He make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8 Jehovah hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength:
Surely, I will no more give thy corn for food to thine enemies,
And the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for which thou hast laboured:
9But they that have gathered it shall eat it,
And shall praise Jehovah:
And they that have brought it together, shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.
10Pass ye, pass through the gates;
Prepare the way for the people;
Cast up, cast up the causeway; clear it of stones;
Lift up a standard for the people.
11Behold! Jehovah hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth:
Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold! thy salvation cometh;
Behold! his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
12And they shall be called: The Holy People, The Redeemed of Jehovah;
And thou shalt be called: The Frequented, The City Unforsaken.
