Isaiah 4
4
1 # [ch. 13:12] And seven women #ch. 3:6 shall take hold of #[ch. 13:12] one man in that day, saying, “We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothes, only let us be called by your name; #See Gen. 30:23take away our reproach.”
The Branch of the Lord Glorified
2In that day #Jer. 23:5; 33:15; Zech. 3:8; 6:12 the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and #[ch. 27:6]the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. 3#ch. 6:13; 10:20 And he who is left in Zion and remains in Jerusalem will be called #Obad. 17 holy, everyone who has #Ex. 32:32; Luke 10:20; Heb. 12:23; [Ps. 69:28]been recorded for life in Jerusalem, 4when #Ezek. 36:25 the Lord shall have washed away the filth of #ch. 3:16 the daughters of Zion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by #ch. 33:14; Mal. 3:2; Matt. 3:11; Luke 3:17a spirit of burning.#4:4 Or purging 5Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies #Ex. 13:21 a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be #[Rev. 7:15]a canopy. 6#ch. 25:4 There will be a #See Ps. 27:5 booth for shade by day from the heat, and #ch. 25:4for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.

1When this happens, seven women will grab the same man, and each of them will say, “I'll buy my own food and clothes! Just marry me and take away my disgrace.”#4.1 take away my disgrace: If a woman did not have a husband or children, it was thought that God was punishing her.
The Lord Will Bless His People Who Survive
2The time is coming when the Lord will make his land fruitful and glorious again, and the people of Israel who survive will take great pride in what the land produces. 3Everyone who is left alive in Jerusalem will be called special, 4after the Lord sends a fiery judgment to clean the city and its people of their violent deeds.

Ex 13.21,22; 24.16. Then the Lord will cover the whole city and its meeting places with a thick cloud each day and with a flaming fire#4.5 thick … fire: This is how the Lord led the people of Israel during the 40 years they were in the desert (see Exodus 13.20-22; 40.36-38). each night. God's own glory will be like a huge tent that covers everything. 6It will provide shade from the heat of the sun and a place of shelter and protection from storms and rain.
