His Lovingkindness Endures Forever
1Give thanks to Yahweh, for He is good,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
2Give thanks to the God of gods,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
3Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
4¶To Him who alone does great #136:4 Wonderful actswonders,
For His lovingkindness endures forever;
5To Him who made the heavens with #136:5 Lit understandingskill,
For His lovingkindness endures forever;
6To Him who spread out the earth above the waters,
For His lovingkindness endures forever;
7To Him who made the great lights,
For His lovingkindness endures forever:
8The sun to rule #136:8 Or over theby day,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
9The moon and stars to rule #136:9 Or over theby night,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
10¶To Him who struck #136:10 Lit Egyptthe Egyptians through their firstborn,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
11Then brought Israel out from their midst,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
12With a strong hand and an outstretched arm,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
13¶To Him who divided the #136:13 Lit Sea of ReedsRed Sea in two,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
14And made Israel pass through the midst of it,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
15But He #136:15 Lit shook offoverthrew Pharaoh and his army in the #136:15 Lit Sea of ReedsRed Sea,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
16¶To Him who led His people through the wilderness,
For His lovingkindness endures forever;
17¶To Him who struck great kings,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
18And killed #136:18 Lit majesticmighty kings,
For His lovingkindness endures forever:
19Sihon, king of the Amorites,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
20And Og, king of Bashan,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
21And gave their land as an inheritance,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
22Even an inheritance to Israel His servant,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
23¶Who remembered us in our low estate,
For His lovingkindness endures forever,
24And has snatched us from our adversaries,
For His lovingkindness endures forever;
25Who gives food to all flesh,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
26Give thanks to the God of heaven,
For His lovingkindness endures forever.
