Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 11
11
1Become imitators of me, as I also am of Messiah.
2And I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in every way and keep the traditions as I delivered them to you.
3And I wish you to know that the head of every man is the Messiah,#See Eph. 1:22; Eph. 4:15; Eph. 5:23 and the head of woman is the man,#See Gen. 3:16 and the head of Messiah is Elohim.#See 1Cor. 3:23; John 14:28
4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, brings shame to his Head.
5And every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered brings shame to her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved.
6For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.#See Num. 5:18
7For a man indeed should not cover his head, since he is the likeness and esteem of Elohim, but woman is the esteem of man.
8For man is not from woman, but woman from man.
9For man also was not created for the woman, but woman for the man.
10Because of this the woman ought to have authority#Some say “a symbol of authority.” on her head, because of the messengers.
11However, man is not independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Master.
12For as the woman was from the man, even so the man also is through the woman. But all are from Elohim.
13Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to Elohim with her head uncovered?
14Does not nature itself teach you that if a man indeed has long hair, it is a disrespect to him?
15And if a woman has long hair, it is an esteem to her, because the long hair has been given to her over against a veil.
16If, however, anyone seems to be contentious, we do not have such a habit, nor do the assemblies of Elohim.
17And in declaring this I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse.
18For in the first place, I hear that when you come together as an assembly, there are divisions among you, and to some extent I believe it.
19For there have to be factions even among you, so that the approved ones might be revealed among you.
20So when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Master’s supper.
21For, when you eat, each one takes his own supper first, and one is hungry and another is drunk.
22Have you not houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the assembly of Elohim and shame those who have not? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise!
23For I received from the Master that which I also delivered to you: that the Master יהושע in the night in which He was delivered up took bread,
24and having given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat, this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
25In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the renewed covenant in My blood. As often as you drink it, do this in remembrance of Me.”
26For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Master until He comes.
27So that whoever should eat this bread or drink this cup of the Master unworthily shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Master.
28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup.
29For the one who is eating and drinking unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Master.
30Because of this many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
31For if we were to examine ourselves, we would not be judged.
32But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Master, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
34And if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for judgment. And the rest I shall set in order when I come.

1 Corinthians 11
11
1Imitate me, as I also imitate Christ. # Php 2:5; 1Pt 2:21
Instructions about Head Coverings
2Now I praise you # Other mss add brothers, because you always remember me and keep the traditions # 2Th 2:15; 3:6 just as I delivered # Jd 3 them to you. 3But I want you to know that Christ is the head # Eph 1:22; 4:15; Col 1:18; 2:10,19 of every man, and the man is the head of the woman, # Or the husband is the head of the wife # Gn 3:16; Eph 5:23 and God is the head of Christ. # 1Co 3:23 4Every man who prays or prophesies with something on his head dishonors # 1Pt 3:16 his head. 5But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since that is one and the same as having her head shaved. # Dt 21:11-12 6So if a woman’s head # Lit a woman is not covered, her hair should be cut off. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, she should be covered.
7A man, in fact, should not cover his head, because he is God’s image # Gn 1:27 and glory, # Mk 10:37; Lk 9:32; Jn 17:24; 2Co 3:18; 2Pt 3:18 but woman is man’s glory. 8For man did not come from woman, but woman came from man. # Gn 2:21-23; 1Tm 2:13 9And man was not created for woman, but woman for man. 10This is why a woman should have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. 11In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, and man is not independent of woman. 12For just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman, and all things come from God. # Ps 104:24; Rv 3:14
13Judge # Jn 5:22-30 for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14Does not even nature itself teach # Mt 28:20; Ac 4:2; 2Tm 4:11 you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace # 2Co 6:8 to him, 15but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? # Php 3:19 For her hair is given to her # Other mss omit to her as a covering. 16But if anyone wants to argue about this, we have no other # Or no such custom, nor do the churches of God.
The Lord’s Supper
17Now in giving the following instruction I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse. 18For to begin with, I hear that when you come together as a church there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19There must, indeed, be factions # 2Pt 2:1 among you, so that those who are approved may be recognized among you. 20Therefore, when you come together, it is not really to eat the Lord’s Supper. # Mt 26:26-29; Mk 14:22-25; Lk 22:14-20; 1Co 10:14-22 21For at the meal, each one eats his own supper ahead of others. So one person is hungry while another gets drunk! 22Don’t you have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you look down on the church of God and embarrass those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I do not praise you for this!
23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: # Jd 3 On the night when He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, 24gave thanks, broke it, and said, # Other mss add “Take, eat. “This is My body, which is # Other mss add broken for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.” # Lk 22:19
25In the same way, after supper He also took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant # Lk 22:20 established by My blood. # Jn 6:54 Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death # Php 2:8; 3:10 until He comes. # Mk 8:38
Self-Examination
27Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy way will be guilty of sin against the body # Lit be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28So a man should examine himself; in this way he should eat the bread and drink from the cup. 29For whoever eats and drinks without recognizing the body, # Other mss read drinks unworthily, not discerning the Lord’s body eats and drinks judgment # Mk 12:40; 1Jn 5:16 on himself. 30This is why many are sick and ill among you, and many have fallen asleep. # Jn 11:11; Ac 7:60; 1Th 4:13-15 31If we were properly evaluating ourselves, we would not be judged, 32but when we are judged, # Jn 5:22-30 we are disciplined by the Lord, so that we may not be condemned # Mt 12:41; Jn 5:22 with the world.
33Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you gather together you will not come under judgment. And I will give instructions about the other matters whenever I come. # 1Co 4:19
