Isaiah 9
9
IX
1But yet there shall not always be darkness to that land wherein is now distress:
As in the former time be made no account of
The land of Zabulon and the land of Naphtali;
So in the latter time he hath exalted
The way of the sea beyond Jordan, the Galilee of the nations.
2The people that walked in darkness,
Have seen a great light;
They that dwell in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them hath the light shined.
3Thou hast multiplied the nation,
Thou hast increased their joy:
They joy before thee as with the joy of harvest;
As they rejoice, who divide the spoil.
4For the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder,
The rod of his oppressor, hast thou broken, as in the day of Midian.
5For every greave of the warrior accoutred for battle,
And the garment rolled in blood,
Shall be for burning, as fuel for the fire.
6For unto us a child is born; unto us a son is given;
And the government shall be upon his shoulder:
And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
Mighty God, Father of eternity, Prince of peace.
7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end,
Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom;
To establish it, and to support it,
With judgment and with justice, henceforth and for ever:
The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will do this.
8The Lord hath sent a word unto Jacob;
And it hath lighted upon Israel:
9And all the people shall know,
Even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria;
Who in the pride and arrogancy of heart do say:
10The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stone;
The sycamores are cut down, but we will substitute cedars.
11Therefore shall Jehovah set up the adversaries of Rezin against him,
And shall arm his enemies;
12Syria from before, and the Philistines from behind;
And they shall devour Israel with open mouth.
For all this his anger is not turned away;
But his hand is still stretched out.
13For the people have not turned unto him who smote them;
And Jehovah of hosts have they not sought.
14Therefore shall Jehovah cut off from Israel head and tail;
Branch and rush in one day.
15The aged and honourable, they are the head;
And the prophet that teacheth falsehood, he is the tail.
16For the leaders of this people lead them astray,
And they that are led by them shall be devoured.
17Wherefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men,
Neither on their orphans, and on their widows, shall
he have compassion.
For every one of them is ungodly and an evil-doer:
And every mouth speaketh folly.
For all this his anger is not turned away;
But his hand is still stretched out.
18For wickedness burneth like a fire;
Brier and thorn it shall consume:
And it setteth on fire the thickets of the forest,
And they shall mount up in volumes of rising smoke.
19Through the wrath of Jehovah of hosts is the land darkened;
And the people are as the fuel of the fire;
No man spareth his brother:
20For he snatcheth on the right hand, yet is be hungry;
And devoureth on the left, yet is he not satisfied;
Each man devoureth the flesh of his own arm:
21Manasseh Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh;
And they both are united together against Judah.
For all this his anger is not turned away;
But his hand is still stretched out.

Yeshayah 9
9
1 Nevertheless there will be no gloom in her in anguish. In Et HaRishon (the former time) He brought into contempt Artzah Zevulun and Artzah Naphtali, but acharon (afterward, in the future) did bring to honor Derech HaYam (Way to the Sea, land between Sea of Galilee and the Mediterranean), beyond Yarden, in the Galil HaGoyim.
2The people that walked in choshech have seen an Ohr gadol; they that dwell in the eretz tzalmavet, upon them hath the Ohr dawned.
3Thou shalt multiply the Goy (Nation), and increase its simchah; they joy before Thee according to the simchat baKatzir, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For Thou hast broken the ol (yoke) of his burden, and the mateh (staff) of his shoulder, the shevet hanogesh (rod of the task master) of him, as in the yom of Midyan.#9:4 See Judg 7:25
5 For every boot of the tramping warrior in the battleʼs tumult, and simlah (garments) megolalah (rolled) in damim (blood) shall be for burning and ma'acholet eish (food for fire).
6 For unto us a yeled is born, unto us ben is given; and the misrah (dominion) shall be upon his shoulder; and Shmo shall be called Peleh (Wonderful), Yoetz (Counsellor), El Gibbor (Mighty G-d), Avi Ad (Possessor of Eternity), Sar Shalom (Prince of Peace).
7 Of the increase of his misrah and shalom there shall be no ketz (end), upon the Kisse Dovid, and upon his kingdom, to strengthen it, and to support it with mishpat and with tzedakah from henceforth even ad olam (forever). The Kinat Hashem Tzva'os will fulfill this.
8 Adonoi sent davar against Ya'akov, and it hath fallen upon Yisroel.
9 And all HaAm shall know it, even Ephrayim and the inhabitant of Shomron, that say in the ga'avah (pride) and haughtiness levav (of heart),
10 The levenim (bricks) are fallen down, but we will rebuild with cut stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.
11 Therefore Hashem shall strengthen the adversaries of Retzin against him, and spur on his enemies;
12 The Syrians from the east, and the Pelishtim from the west; and they shall devour Yisroel with open mouth. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His yad is upraised still.
13 For HaAm turneth not unto Him that struck them, neither do they seek Hashem Tzva'os.
14 Therefore Hashem will root out of Yisroel head and tail, palm branch and reed, in yom echad.
15 The zaken and prominent man is the head; and the navi that is the moreh sheker (teacher of lies, false teacher) is the tail.
16 For the me'ashrei HaAm HaZeh (leaders of this people) cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
17Therefore Adonoi shall have no joy in their bocherim, neither shall have mercy on their yetomim and almanot; for every one is a chanef (g-dless, hypocritical) and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh nevalah (folly). For all this His anger is not turned away, but His yad is upraised still.
18 For wickedness burneth like eish; it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall smoke upward like the lifting up of ashan (smoke).
19 Through the Evrat Hashem Tzva'os (Wrath of Hashemof Hosts) is the land darkened, and HaAm shall be ma'acholet eish (food for fire); no ish shall spare his brother.
20 And they grab on the yamin (right hand), and are still hungry; and shall eat on the smol (left hand), and they shall not be satisfied; they shall eat every ish the basar of his own zero'a;
21Menasheh against Ephrayim; and Ephrayim, Menasheh; they together shall be against Yehudah. For all this His anger is not turned away; His yad is upraised still.
