Offerings for the Sacred Tent
(Ex 35.4–9)
1The Lord said to Moses, 2“Tell the Israelites to make an offering to me. Receive whatever offerings anyone wishes to give. 3These offerings are to be: gold, silver, and bronze; 4fine linen; blue, purple, and red wool; cloth made of goats' hair; 5rams' skin dyed red; fine leather; acacia wood; 6oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense; 7carnelians and other jewels to be set in the ephod#25.7 ephod: In most contexts the term ephod refers to a type of garment, in certain respects resembling a waistcoat. It was made of costly and colourful cloth and to it was attached a kind of pouch containing the Urim and Thummim, two objects used in determining God's will. of the High Priest and in his breastpiece. 8The people must make a sacred tent for me, so that I may live among them. 9Make it and all its furnishings according to the plan that I will show you.
The Covenant Box
(Ex 37.1–9)
10“Make a box out of acacia wood, 110 centimetres long, 66 centimetres wide, and 66 centimetres high. 11Cover it with pure gold inside and out and put a gold border all round it. 12Make four carrying rings of gold for it and attach them to its four legs, with two rings on each side. 13Make carrying poles of acacia wood and cover them with gold 14and put them through the rings on each side of the box. 15The poles are to be left in the rings and must not be taken out. 16Then put in the box the two stone tablets that I will give you, on which the commandments are written.

“Make a lid of pure gold, 110 centimetres long and 66 centimetres wide. 18Make two winged creatures#25.18 winged creatures: See Word List. of hammered gold, 19one for each end of the lid. Make them so that they form one piece with the lid. 20The winged creatures are to face each other across the lid, and their outspread wings are to cover it. 21Put the two stone tablets inside the box and put the lid on top of it. 22I will meet you there, and from above the lid between the two winged creatures I will give you all my laws for the people of Israel.
The Table for the Bread Offered to God
(Ex 37.10–16)
23“Make a table out of acacia wood, 88 centimetres long, 44 centimetres wide, and 66 centimetres high. 24Cover it with pure gold and put a gold border round it. 25Make a rim 75 millimetres wide round it and a gold border round the rim. 26Make four carrying rings of gold for it and put them at the four corners, where the legs are. 27The rings to hold the poles for carrying the table are to be placed near the rim. 28Make the poles of acacia wood and cover them with gold. 29Make plates, cups, jars, and bowls to be used for the wine offerings. All of these are to be made of pure gold. 30#Lev 24.5–8The table is to be placed in front of the Covenant Box, and on the table there is always to be the sacred bread offered to me.
The Lampstand
(Ex 37.17–24)
31“Make a lampstand of pure gold. Make its base and its shaft of hammered gold; its decorative flowers, including buds and petals, are to form one piece with it. 32Six branches shall extend from its sides, three from each side. 33Each of the six branches is to have three decorative flowers shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals. 34The shaft of the lampstand is to have four decorative flowers shaped like almond blossoms with buds and petals. 35There is to be one bud below each of the three pairs of branches. 36The buds, the branches, and the lampstand are to be a single piece of pure hammered gold. 37Make seven lamps for the lampstand and set them up so that they shine towards the front. 38Make its tongs and trays of pure gold. 39Use 35 kilogrammes of pure gold to make the lampstand and all this equipment. 40#Acts 7.44; Heb 8.5Take care to make them according to the plan that I showed you on the mountain.

The Sacred Tent
(Exodus 35.4-9)
1The Lord said to Moses:
2Tell everyone in Israel who wants to give gifts that they must bring them to you. 3Here is a list of what you are to collect: Gold, silver, and bronze; 4blue, purple, and red wool; fine linen; goat hair; 5tanned ram skins; fine leather; acacia wood; 6olive oil for the lamp; sweet-smelling spices to mix with the incense and with the oil for dedicating the tent and ordaining the priests; 7and onyx#25.7 onyx: A precious stone with bands of different colors. stones and other gems for the sacred vest and the breastpiece. 8I also want them to build a special place where I can live among my people. 9Make it and its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.
The Sacred Chest
(Exodus 37.1-9)
The Lord said to Moses:
10Tell the people to build a chest of acacia wood 110 centimeters long, 66 centimeters wide, and 66 centimeters high. 11Cover it inside and out with pure gold and put a gold edging around the lid. 12Make four gold rings and attach one of them to each of the four legs of the chest. 13Make two poles of acacia wood. Cover them with gold 14and put them through the rings, so the chest can be carried by the poles. 15Don't ever remove the poles from the rings. 16When I give you the Ten Commandments written on two flat stones, put them inside the chest.

Make the lid of the chest out of pure gold. 18-19Then hammer out two winged creatures of pure gold and fasten them to the lid at the ends of the chest. 20The creatures must face each other with their wings spread over the chest. 21Inside it place the two flat stones with the Ten Commandments on them and put the gold lid on top of the chest. 22I will meet you there#25.22 I will meet you there: It was believed that God had his earthly throne on the lid of the sacred chest. between the two creatures and tell you what my people must do and what they must not do.
The Table for the Sacred Bread
(Exodus 37.10-16)
The Lord said:
23Make a table of acacia wood 88 centimeters long, 44 centimeters wide, and 66 centimeters high. 24-25Cover it with pure gold and put a gold edging around it with a border 75 millimeters thick.#25.24,25 a gold edging … thick: Or “a gold edging around it 75 millimeters thick.” 26Make four gold rings and attach one to each of the legs 27-28near the edging. The poles for carrying the table are to be placed through these rings and are to be made of acacia wood covered with gold. 29-30#Lv 24.5-8. The table is to be kept in the holy place, and the sacred loaves of bread must always be on it. All bowls, plates, jars, and cups for wine offerings are to be made of pure gold and set on this table.
The Lampstand
(Exodus 37.17-24)
The Lord said:
31Make a lampstand of pure gold. The whole lampstand, including its decorative flowers, must be made from a single piece of hammered gold 32with three branches on each of its two sides. 33There are to be three decorative almond blossoms on each branch 34and four on the stem. 35There must also be a blossom where each pair of branches comes out from the stem. 36The lampstand, including its branches and decorative flowers, must be made from a single piece of hammered pure gold. 37The lamp on the top and those at the end of each of its six branches must be made so as to shine toward the front of the lampstand. 38The tongs and trays for taking care of the lamps are to be made of pure gold. 39The lampstand and its equipment will require 35 kilograms of pure gold, 40#Ac 7.44; He 8.5. and they must be made according to the pattern I showed you on the mountain.
