The Offering for Fellow-believers
1 #
Rom 15.25–26
Now, concerning what you wrote about the money to be raised to help God's people in Judea. You must do what I told the churches in Galatia to do. 2Every Sunday each of you must put aside some money, in proportion to what you have earned, and save it up, so that there will be no need to collect money when I come. 3After I come, I shall give letters of introduction to those you have approved, and send them to take your gift to Jerusalem. 4If it seems worthwhile for me to go, then they can go along with me.
Paul's Plans

Acts 19.21
I shall come to you after I have gone through Macedonia — for I have to go through Macedonia. 6I shall probably spend some time with you, perhaps the whole winter, and then you can help me to continue my journey, wherever it is I shall go next. 7I want to see you more than just briefly in passing; I hope to spend quite a long time with you, if the Lord allows.

Acts 19.8–10
I will stay here in Ephesus until the day of Pentecost. 9There is a real opportunity here for great and worthwhile work, even though there are many opponents.

1 Cor 4.17
If Timothy comes your way, be sure to make him feel welcome among you, because he is working for the Lord, just as I am. 11No one should look down on him, but you must help him to continue his trip in peace, so that he will come back to me; for I am expecting him back with the brothers and sisters.
12Now, about brother Apollos. I have often encouraged him to visit you with the other believers, but he is not completely convinced#16.12 he is not completely convinced; or it is not at all God's will. that he should go at this time. When he gets the chance, however, he will go.
Final Words
13Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave, be strong. 14Do all your work in love.

1 Cor 1.16
You know about Stephanas and his family; they are the first Christian converts in Achaia and have given themselves to the service of God's people. I beg you, my brothers and sisters, 16to follow the leadership of such people as these, and of anyone else who works and serves with them.
17I am happy about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus; they have made up for your absence 18and have cheered me up, just as they cheered you up. Such men as these deserve notice.

Acts 18.2
The churches in the province of Asia send you their greetings; Aquila and Priscilla and the church that meets in their house send warm Christian greetings. 20All the believers here send greetings.
Greet one another with a holy kiss.
21With my own hand I write this: Greetings from Paul.
22Whoever does not love the Lord — a curse on him!
Marana tha — Our Lord, come!
23The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
24My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.

The Collection for Jerusalem
1Now regarding your question about the money being collected for God’s people in Jerusalem. You should follow the same procedure I gave to the churches in Galatia. 2On the first day of each week, you should each put aside a portion of the money you have earned. Don’t wait until I get there and then try to collect it all at once. 3When I come, I will write letters of recommendation for the messengers you choose to deliver your gift to Jerusalem. 4And if it seems appropriate for me to go along, they can travel with me.
Paul’s Final Instructions
5I am coming to visit you after I have been to Macedonia,#16:5 Macedonia was in the northern region of Greece. for I am planning to travel through Macedonia. 6Perhaps I will stay awhile with you, possibly all winter, and then you can send me on my way to my next destination. 7This time I don’t want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me. 8In the meantime, I will be staying here at Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost. 9There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.
10When Timothy comes, don’t intimidate him. He is doing the Lord’s work, just as I am. 11Don’t let anyone treat him with contempt. Send him on his way with your blessing when he returns to me. I expect him to come with the other believers.#16:11 Greek with the brothers; also in 16:12.
12Now about our brother Apollos—I urged him to visit you with the other believers, but he was not willing to go right now. He will see you later when he has the opportunity.
13Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous.#16:13 Greek Be men. Be strong. 14And do everything with love.
15You know that Stephanas and his household were the first of the harvest of believers in Greece,#16:15a Greek in Achaia, the southern region of the Greek peninsula. and they are spending their lives in service to God’s people. I urge you, dear brothers and sisters,#16:15b Greek brothers; also in 16:20. 16to submit to them and others like them who serve with such devotion. 17I am very glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have come here. They have been providing the help you weren’t here to give me. 18They have been a wonderful encouragement to me, as they have been to you. You must show your appreciation to all who serve so well.
Paul’s Final Greetings
19The churches here in the province of Asia#16:19a Asia was a Roman province in what is now western Turkey. send greetings in the Lord, as do Aquila and Priscilla#16:19b Greek Prisca. and all the others who gather in their home for church meetings. 20All the brothers and sisters here send greetings to you. Greet each other with a sacred kiss.
21 Here is my greeting in my own handwriting—Paul.
22If anyone does not love the Lord, that person is cursed. Our Lord, come!#16:22 From Aramaic, Marana tha. Some manuscripts read Maran atha, “Our Lord has come.”
23May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
24My love to all of you in Christ Jesus.#16:24 Some manuscripts add Amen.
