Jesus Rises From the Dead
1After the Sabbath day was over, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came back to the tomb.
2Just then there was a powerful earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, went over to the tomb, rolled back the stone, and sat down on it. 3His body shone like lightning and his clothes were as white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they trembled and became limp, as if they were dead.
5The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you’re looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He’s not here. He has risen, just as he said he would! Come and see the place where he was lying. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead! He will go ahead of you to Galilee, and you’ll see him there.’ It will be as I’ve told you.”
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid but filled with joy. They ran to tell the disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them and said, “Good morning!” They came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. They’ll see me there.”
The Guards Report to the Chief Priests
11While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported everything that had happened to the chief priests. 12So the chief priests met with the elders and came up with a plan. They gave the soldiers a large amount of money 13and told them to say, “His disciples came during the night and stole his body while we were sleeping.” They added, 14“If the governor hears this report, we’ll make sure you don’t get into trouble.” 15So the soldiers took the money and did as they were told, and their story is still being told among the Jews to this day.
Jesus’ Final Words to His Disciples
16Then the 11 disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him, though some still had their doubts. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19So go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. 20Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I will always be with you, to the very end of the age.”

S. Matthew 28
28
1Now late on the sabbath day, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it. 3His appearance was as lightning, and his raiment white as snow: 4and for fear of him the watchers did quake, and became as dead men. 5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which hath been crucified. 6He is not here; for he is risen, even as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7And go quickly, and tell his disciples, He is risen from the dead; and lo, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. 8And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word. 9And behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and took hold of his feet, and worshipped him. 10Then saith Jesus unto them, Fear not: go tell my brethren that they depart into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
11Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city, and told unto the chief priests all the things that were come to pass. 12And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, 13saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. 14And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and rid you of care. 15So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying was spread abroad among the Jews, and continueth until this day.
16But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, unto the mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. 19Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost: 20teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
