Psalms 112

PSALM 112
1 Alleluia. Blessed is the man that dreadeth the Lord; he shall delight full much in his commandments.
2His seed shall be mighty in [the] earth; the generation of rightful [or right] men shall be blessed.
3Glory and riches be in his house; and his rightfulness [or rightwiseness] dwelleth into the world of world.
4Light is risen up in darknesses to rightful [or right] men; the Lord is merciful in will, and a merciful doer, and rightful [or rightwise].
5The man is merry, that doeth mercy, and lendeth; he disposeth his words in doom;
6for he shall not be moved without end. A just [or rightwise] man shall be in everlasting mind;
7he shall not dread of an evil hearing. His heart is ready for to hope in the Lord;
8his heart is confirmed, he shall not be moved, till he despise his enemies.
9He spreaded abroad, he gave to poor men; his rightwiseness dwelleth into the world of world; his horn shall be raised in glory.
10A sinner shall see, and shall be wroth; he shall gnash with his teeth, and shall fail, either shall wax rotten; the desire of sinners shall perish.

The Triumph of Faith
1Shout in celebration of praise to the Lord!
Everyone who loves the Lord and delights in him
will cherish his words and be blessed beyond expectation.
2Their descendants will be prosperous and influential.
Every generation of the righteous will experience his favor.
3Great blessing and wealth fills the house of the wise,
for their integrity endures forever.
4Even if darkness overtakes them,
sunrise-brilliance will come bursting through
because they are gracious to others, so tender and true.
5Life is good for the one who is generous and charitable,
conducting affairs with honesty and truth.
6Their circumstances will never shake them
and others will never forget their example.
7They will not live in fear or dread of what may come,
for their hearts are firm, ever secure in their faith.
8Steady and strong, they will not be afraid,
but will calmly face their every foe
until they all go down in defeat.
9Never stingy and always generous to those in need,
they lived lives of influence and honor that will never be forgotten,
for they were full of good deeds.
10But the wicked take one look at a life lived like this
and they grit their teeth in anger, not understanding their bliss.
The wicked slink away speechless in the darkness that falls,
where hope dies and all their dreams fade away to nothing,
nothing at all!
