Matthew 28

CHAPTER 28
1But in the eventide of the sabbath, [or holiday], that beginneth to shine in the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came, and another Mary, to see the sepulchre.
2And lo! there was made a great earth-shaking; for the angel of the Lord came down from heaven, and nighed, and turned away the stone, and sat thereon.
3And his looking was as lightning, and his clothes [white] as snow;
4and for dread of him the keepers were afeared, and they were made as dead men.
5But the angel answered, and said to the women, Do not ye dread, for I know that ye seek Jesus, that was crucified;
6he is not here, for he is risen, as he said; come ye, and see ye the place, where the Lord was laid.
7And go ye soon, and say ye to his disciples, that he is risen. And lo! he shall go before you into Galilee; there ye shall see him. Lo! I have before-said to you.
8And they went out soon from the burials [or the sepulchre], with dread, and great joy, running to tell to his disciples.
9And lo! Jesus met them, and said, Hail ye. And they nighed, and held his feet, and worshipped him.
10Then Jesus said to them, Do not ye dread; go ye, tell ye to my brethren, that they go into Galilee; there they shall see me.
11And when they were gone, lo! some of the keepers came into the city, and told to the princes of priests all things that were done.
12And when they were gathered together with the elder men, and had taken their counsel, they gave to the knights much money,
13and said, Say ye, that his disciples came by night, and have stolen him, while ye slept.
14And if this be heard of the justice [or the president], we shall counsel him, and make you secure.
15And when the money was taken, they did, as they were taught. And this word is published among the Jews, till into this day.
16And the eleven disciples went into Galilee, into an hill, where Jesus had ordained to them.
17And they saw him, and worship-ped; but some of them doubted.
18And Jesus came nigh, and spake to them, and said, All power in heaven and in earth is given to me.
19Therefore go ye, and teach all folks, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost;
20teaching them to keep all things, whatever things I have commanded to you; and lo! I am with you in all days, into the end of the world.

Matthew 28
28
1 Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Miriam Magdalene and the other Miriam came to see the tomb. 2Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky and came and rolled away the stone from the door and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. 4For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men. 5The angel answered the women, “Don’t be afraid, for I know that you seek Yeshua, who has been crucified. 6He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying. 7Go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has risen from the dead, and behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you will see him.’ Behold, I have told you.”
8 They departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring his disciples word. 9As they went to tell his disciples, behold, Yeshua met them, saying, “Rejoice!”
They came and took hold of his feet, and worshiped him.
10 Then Yeshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers #28:10 The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” that they should go into Galilee, and there they will see me.”
11 Now while they were going, behold, some of the guards came into the city and told the chief priests all the things that had happened. 12When they were assembled with the elders and had taken counsel, they gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers, 13saying, “Say that his disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept. 14If this comes to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him and make you free of worry.” 15So they took the money and did as they were told. This saying was spread abroad among the Judeans, and continues until today.
16 But the eleven disciples went into Galilee, to the mountain where Yeshua had sent them. 17When they saw him, they bowed down to him; but some doubted. 18Yeshua came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. 19Go#28:19 TR and NU add “therefore” and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
