CHAPTER 5
1This is the book of the generations of Adam, in the day wherein God made man of nought. God made man to the image and likeness of God;
2God formed them male and female, and blessed them, and called the name of them Adam, in the day in which they were formed.
3Forsooth Adam lived an hundred years and thirty, and begat a son to his image and likeness, and called his name Seth.
4And the days of Adam after that he begat Seth were made eight hundred years, and he begat sons and daughters.
5And all the time in which Adam lived was made nine hundred years and thirty, and he was dead.
6And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos.
7And Seth lived after that he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.
8And all the days of Seth were made nine hundred and twelve years, and he was dead.
9Forsooth Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan;
10after whose birth Enos lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters.
11And all the days of Enos were made nine hundred and five years, and he was dead.
12Also Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel.
13And Cainan lived after that he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters.
14And all the days of Cainan were made nine hundred and ten years, and he was dead.
15Forsooth Mahalaleel lived sixty years and five, and begat Jared.
16And Mahalaleel lived after that he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.
17And all the days of Mahalaleel were made eight hundred [and] ninety and five years, and he was dead.
18And Jared lived an hundred and two and sixty years, and begat Enoch.
19And Jared lived after that he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
20And all the days of Jared were made nine hundred and two and sixty years, and he was dead.
21Forsooth Enoch lived five and sixty years, and begat Methuselah.
22And Enoch went with God; and Enoch lived after that he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.
23And all the days of Enoch were three hundred and five and sixty years.
24And Enoch went with God, and appeared not afterward, for God took him away.
25Also Methuselah lived an hundred and seven and eighty years, and begat Lamech.
26And Methuselah lived after that he begat Lamech seven hundred and two and eighty years, and begat sons and daughters.
27And all the days of Methuselah were made nine hundred and nine and sixty years, and he was dead.
28Forsooth Lamech lived an hundred and two and eighty years, and begat a son;
29and [he] called his name Noah#5:29 This name sounds like the Hebrew for ‘rest’ or ‘relief’., and said, This man shall comfort us of the works and travails of our hands, in the land which the Lord cursed.
30And Lamech lived after that he begat Noah five hundred [and] ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters.
31And all the days of Lamech were made seven hundred [and] seventy and seven years, and he was dead.
32Forsooth Noah, when he was of five hundred years, begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Adam’s Descendants
1#Ge 1:26–27; Eph 4:24This is the book of the generations of Adam.
In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. 2#Ge 1:27He created them male and female. He blessed them and called them Mankind in the day when they were created.
3#Ge 4:25Adam lived a hundred and thirty years and became the father of a son in his own likeness, after his own image, and called his name Seth. 4#Ge 5:7; 5:10The days of Adam after he became the father of Seth were eight hundred years, and he had other sons and daughters. 5#Ge 3:19; 5:8So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.
6#Ge 4:26Seth lived one hundred and five years and became the father of Enosh. 7Seth lived after the birth of Enosh eight hundred and seven years and had other sons and daughters. 8So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.
9Enosh lived ninety years and became the father of Kenan. 10Enosh lived after the birth of Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years and had other sons and daughters. 11So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years, and he died.
12Kenan lived seventy years and became the father of Mahalalel. 13Kenan lived after the birth of Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years and had other sons and daughters. 14So all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died.
15Mahalalel lived sixty-five years and became the father of Jared. 16Mahalalel lived after the birth of Jared eight hundred and thirty years and had other sons and daughters. 17So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years, and he died.
18Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years and became the father of Enoch. 19Jared lived after the birth of Enoch eight hundred years and had other sons and daughters. 20So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.
21Enoch lived sixty-five years and became the father of Methuselah. 22#Ge 6:9; Mic 6:8Enoch walked with God after the birth of Methuselah for three hundred years and had other sons and daughters. 23So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24#2Ki 2:11; Jer 31:15; 1Jn 1:7Enoch walked with God, and then he was no more because God took him.
25Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years and became the father of Lamech. 26Methuselah lived after the birth of Lamech seven hundred and eighty-two years and had other sons and daughters. 27So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.
28Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years and had a son. 29#Ge 3:17–19He named his son Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands because of the ground which the Lord has cursed.” 30Lamech lived after the birth of Noah five hundred and ninety-five years and had other sons and daughters. 31So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died.
32#Ge 6:10; 10:21Noah was five hundred years old and became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
