1st Corinthians 6

CHAPTER 6
1Dare any of you that hath a cause against another, be deemed at wicked men, and not at holy men [or saints]?
2Whether ye know not, that saints shall deem this world? And if the world shall be deemed by you, be ye unworthy to deem the least things?
3Know ye not, that we shall deem angels? how much more worldly things?
4Therefore if ye have worldly dooms, ordain ye those contemptible men, [or of little reputation], that be in the church, to deem.
5I say to make you ashamed [or I say to your shame]. So there is not any wise man, that may deem betwixt a brother and his brother;
6but brother with brother striveth in doom, and that among unfaithful men.
7And now trespass is always among you, for ye have dooms among you. Why rather take ye not wrong? why rather suffer ye not deceit [or fraud]?
8But also ye do wrong, and do fraud [or and defraud], and that to brethren.
9Whether ye know not, that wicked men shall not wield the kingdom of God? Do not ye err; neither lechers, neither men that serve maumets [or idols], neither adulterers, neither lechers against kind, neither they that do lechery with men,
10neither thieves, neither avaricious [or covetous] men, neither men full of drunkenness, neither cursers, neither raveners, shall wield the kingdom of God.
11And ye were sometime these things; but ye be washed, but ye be hallowed, but ye be justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.
12All things be leaveful to me, but not all things be speedful. All things be leaveful to me, but I shall not be brought down under any man’s power.
13Meat to the womb, and the womb to meats; and God shall destroy both this and that. And the body not to fornication, but to the Lord, and the Lord to the body.
14For God raised the Lord, and shall raise us by his virtue.
15Know ye not, that your bodies be members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and shall I make them the members of a whore? God forbid.
16Whether ye know not, that he that cleaveth to a whore, is made one body? For he saith, There shall be twain in one flesh.
17And he that cleaveth to the Lord, is one Spirit.
18Flee ye fornication; all sin what-ever sin a man doeth, is without the body; but he that doeth fornication, sinneth against his body.
19Whether ye know not, that your members be the temple of the Holy Ghost, that is in you, whom ye have of God, and ye be not your own?
20For ye be bought with great price. Glorify ye, and bear ye God in your body.

1 Corinthians 6
6
Settling Disagreements between Christians
1When one of you has a complaint against another, how dare you go to court to settle the matter in front of wicked people. Why don’t you settle it in front of God’s holy people? 2Don’t you know that God’s people will judge the world? So if you’re going to judge the world, aren’t you capable of judging insignificant cases? 3Don’t you know that we will judge angels, not to mention things in this life? 4When you have cases dealing with this life, why do you allow people whom the church has a low opinion of to be your judges? 5You should be ashamed of yourselves! Don’t you have at least one wise person who is able to settle disagreements between believers? 6Instead, one believer goes to court against another believer, and this happens in front of unbelievers.
7You are already totally defeated because you have lawsuits against each other. Why don’t you accept the fact that you have been wronged? Why don’t you accept that you have been cheated? 8Instead, you do wrong and cheat, and you do this to other believers.
9Don’t you know that wicked people won’t inherit God’s kingdom? Stop deceiving yourselves! People who continue to commit sexual sins, who worship false gods, those who commit adultery, homosexuals, 10or thieves, those who are greedy or drunk, who use abusive language, or who rob people will not inherit God’s kingdom. 11That’s what some of you were! But you have been washed and made holy, and you have received God’s approval in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Stay Away from Sexual Sins
12Someone may say, “I’m allowed to do anything,” but not everything is helpful. I’m allowed to do anything, but I won’t allow anything to gain control over my life. 13Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will put an end to both of them. However, the body is not for sexual sin but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. 14God brought the Lord back to life, and by his power God will also bring us back to life.
15Don’t you realize that your bodies are parts of Christ’s body? Should I take the parts of Christ’s body and make them parts of a prostitute’s body? That’s unthinkable! 16Don’t you realize that the person who unites himself with a prostitute becomes one body with her? God says, “The two will be one.” 17However, the person who unites himself with the Lord becomes one spirit with him.
18Stay away from sexual sins. Other sins that people commit don’t affect their bodies the same way sexual sins do. People who sin sexually sin against their own bodies. 19Don’t you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don’t belong to yourselves. 20You were bought for a price. So bring glory to God in the way you use your body.
