Isaiah 26
26
1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Iudah, We haue a strong citie: saluation shall God set for walles and bulwarkes. 2Open ye the gates that the righteous nation, which keepeth the trueth, may enter in. 3By an assured purpose wilt thou preserue perfite peace, because they trusted in thee. 4Trust in the Lord for euer: for in the Lord God is strength for euermore. 5For hee will bring downe them that dwell on hie: the hie citie he will abase: euen vnto the ground wil he cast it downe, and bring it vnto dust. 6The foote shall treade it downe, euen the feete of the poore, and the steppes of the needie. 7The way of the iust is righteousnesse: thou wilt make equall the righteous path of the iust. 8Also we, O Lord, haue waited for thee in the way of thy iudgemets: the desire of our soule is to thy Name, and to the remembrance of thee. 9With my soule haue I desired thee in the night, and with my spirit within mee will I seeke thee in the morning: for seeing thy iudgements are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learne righteousnesse. 10Let mercie bee shewed to the wicked, yet hee will not learne righteousnesse: in the land of vprightnesse will he do wickedly, and will not beholde the maiestie of the Lord. 11O Lord, they will not beholde thine hie hande: but they shall see it, and bee confounded with the zeale of the people, and the fire of thine enemies shall deuoure them. 12Lord, vnto vs thou wilt ordeine peace: for thou also hast wrought all our workes for vs. 13O Lord our God, other lords beside thee, haue ruled vs, but we will remember thee onely, and thy Name. 14The dead shall not liue, neither shall the dead arise, because thou hast visited and scattered them, and destroyed all their memorie. 15Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord: thou hast increased the nation: thou art made glorious: thou hast enlarged all the coastes of the earth. 16Lord, in trouble haue they visited thee: they powred out a prayer when thy chastening was vpon them. 17Like as a woman with childe, that draweth neere to the trauaile, is in sorow, and cryeth in her paines, so haue we bene in thy sight, O Lord. 18We haue coceiued, we haue borne in paine, as though we should haue brought forth winde: there was no helpe in the earth, neither did the inhabitants of the world fall. 19Thy dead men shall liue: euen with my body shall they rise. Awake, and sing, ye that dwel in dust: for thy dewe is as the dew of herbes, and the earth shall cast out the dead. 20Come, my people: enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doores after thee: hide thy selfe for a very litle while, vntill the indignation passe ouer. 21For lo, the Lord commeth out of his place, to visite the iniquitie of the inhabitants of the earth vpon them: and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more hide her slaine.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 26
26
1In that day this song is sung in the land of Yehuḏah, “We have a strong city – He sets up deliverance, walls and ramparts.
2“Open the gates, let the righteous nation which guards the truth enter in.
3“The one steadfast of mind You guard in perfect peace, for he trusts in You.
4“Trust in יהוה forever, for in Yah, יהוה, is a rock of ages.
5“For He shall bring down those who dwell on high. He lays the exalted city low, He lays it low to the earth, He brings it down to the dust.
6“A foot tramples it down – feet of the poor, footsteps of the needy.”
7The path of the righteous is uprightness; O upright One, You weigh the course of the righteous.
8Also, in the path of Your right-rulings, O יהוה, we have waited for You; the longing of our being is for Your Name and for the remembrance of You.
9My being longs for You in the night, also, my spirit within me seeks You earnestly. For when Your right-rulings are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world shall learn righteousness.
10The wrong finds favour, yet he shall not learn righteousness; in the land of straightforwardness he acts perversely, and does not see the excellency of יהוה.
11O יהוה, Your hand is high, they do not see. They see the ardour of the people and are ashamed; also, let the fire for Your adversaries consume them.
12O יהוה, You establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us.
13O יהוה our Elohim, other masters besides You have had rule over us; only in You do we make mention of Your Name.
14The dead do not live; the departed spirits#Departed spirits - the Repha’im. do not rise. Therefore You have visited and destroyed them, and made all their remembrance to perish.
15You shall increase the nation, O יהוה, You shall increase the nation; You are esteemed; You shall expand all the borders of the land.
16O יהוה, in distress they shall visit You, they shall pour out a prayer when Your disciplining is upon them.
17As a woman with child and about to give birth writhes and cries out in her pain, so shall we be before Your face, O יהוה.
18We have conceived, we writhed in pain; we have given birth to wind. We have not accomplished deliverance in the earth, nor have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
19Let Your dead live, together with my dead body, let them arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; for Your dew is a dew of light, and let the earth give birth to the departed spirits.#Departed spirits - the Repha’im.
20Go, my people, enter your rooms, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little while, until the displeasure is past.
21For look, יהוה is coming out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their crookedness. And the earth shall disclose her blood, and no longer cover her killed ones.
