In the day that God created Adam, in the likenes of God made he him, 2Male and female created he them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam in the day that they were created. 3Nowe Adam liued an hundred and thirtie yeeres, and begate a childe in his owne likenes after his image, and called his name Sheth. 4And the dayes of Adam, after he had begotten Sheth, were eight hundreth yeeres, and he begate sonnes and daughters. 5So all the dayes that Adam liued, were nine hundreth and thirtie yeeres: and he died. 6And Sheth liued an hundreth and fiue yeeres, and begate Enosh. 7And Sheth liued, after he begate Enosh, eight hundreth and seuen yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 8So all the dayes of Sheth were nine hundreth and twelue yeeres: and he died. 9Also Enosh liued ninetie yeeres, and begate Kenan. 10And Enosh liued, after he begate Kenan, eight hundreth and fifteene yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 11So all the dayes of Enosh were nine hundreth and fiue yeeres: and he died 12Likewise Kenan liued seuentie yeeres, and begate Mahalaleel. 13And Kenan liued, after he begate Mahalaleel, eight hundreth and fourtie yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 14So all the dayes of Kenan were nine hundreth and tenne yeeres: and he died. 15Mahalaleel also liued sixtie and fiue yeres, and begate Iered. 16Also Mahalaleel liued, after he begate Iered, eight hundreth and thirtie yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 17So all the dayes of Mahalaleel were eight hundreth ninetie and fiue yeeres: and he died. 18And Iered liued an hundreth sixtie and two yeeres, and begate Henoch. 19Then Iered liued, after he begate Henoch, eight hundreth yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 20So all the dayes of Iered were nine hundreth sixtie and two yeeres: and he died. 21Also Henoch liued sixtie and fiue yeeres, and begate Methushelah. 22And Henoch walked with God, after he begate Methushelah, three hundreth yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 23So all the dayes of Henoch were three hundreth sixtie and fiue yeeres. 24And Henoch walked with God, and he was no more seene: for God tooke him away. 25Methushelah also liued an hundreth eightie and seuen yeeres, and begate Lamech. 26And Methushelah liued, after he begate Lamech, seuen hundreth eightie and two yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 27So al the dayes of Methushelah were nine hundreth sixtie and nine yeeres: and he died. 28Then Lamech liued an hundreth eightie and two yeeres, and begate a sonne, 29And called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort vs concerning our worke and sorowe of our hands, as touching the earth, which the Lord hath cursed. 30And Lamech liued, after he begate Noah, fiue hundreth ninetie and fiue yeeres, and begate sonnes and daughters. 31So all the dayes of Lamech were seuen hundreth seuentie and seuen yeeres: and he died. 32And Noah was fiue hundreth yeere olde. And Noah begate Shem, Ham and Iapheth.

The descendants of Adam

1This is the report about Adam and his family.

When God made men and women, he made them like himself. 2God made male and female people and he called them ‘human’. He blessed them.

3When Adam was 130 years old, he had a son who was like him. Adam called him Seth. 4After Seth was born, Adam lived for 800 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 5Adam was 930 years old when he died.

6When Seth was 105 years old, he had a son. He called him Enosh. 7After Enosh was born, Seth lived for 807 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 8Seth was 912 years old when he died.

9When Enosh was 90 years old, he had a son. He called him Kenan. 10After Kenan was born, Enosh lived for 815 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 11Enosh was 905 years old when he died.

12When Kenan was 70 years old, he had a son. He called him Mahalalel. 13After Mahalalel was born, Kenan lived for 840 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 14Kenan was 910 years old when he died.

15When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he had a son. He called him Jared. 16After Jared was born, Mahalalel lived for 830 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 17Mahalalel was 895 years old when he died.

18When Jared was 162 years old, he had a son. He called him Enoch. 19After Enoch was born, Jared lived for 800 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 20Jared was 962 years old when he died.

21When Enoch was 65 years old, he had a son. He called him Methuselah. 22After Methuselah was born, Enoch lived as God wanted for 300 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 23Enoch lived on earth for 365 years. 24Enoch lived to please God all this time, then Enoch was not there any more. God took Enoch to be with him. #5:24 God took Enoch to be with him in heaven. So Enoch did not die like other people die.

25When Methuselah was 187 years old, he had a son. He called him Lamech. #5:25 This is not the same Lamech as the one who killed a young man. See Genesis 4:23. 26After Lamech was born, Methuselah lived for 782 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 27Methuselah was 969 years old when he died.

28When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son. 29He called his son Noah. Lamech said, ‘He will help us in our difficult work on the land. We have pain when we work on the land to get food. That is because the Lord God cursed the ground.’ 30After Noah was born, Lamech lived for 595 years. During this time, he had other sons and daughters. 31Lamech was 777 years old when he died.

32After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth.
