Isaiah 58
58
1Cry aloud, spare not, lift up youri voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Ya’akov [Heal of God] their sins.
2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].
3For what reason have we fasted, [say they], and youi see not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and youi take no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast you2f find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
4Behold, you2f fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you2f shall not fast as [you2f do this] day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
5Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? [is it] to bow down his head as a bulrush (tall plant near water, such as papyrus), and to spread sackcloth and ashes [under him]? will youi call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate)?
6 [Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you2f break every yoke?
7 [Is it] not to deal youri bread to the hungry, and that youi bring the poor that are cast out to youri house? when youi see the naked, that youi cover him; and that youi hide not yourself from youri own flesh?
8Then shall youri light break forth as the morning, and youri health shall spring forth speedily: and youri righteousness shall go before youi; the glory of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) shall be youri rear guard.
9Then shall youi call, and the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) shall answer; youi shall cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. If youi take away from the midst of youi the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10And [if] youi draw out youri soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall youri light rise in obscurity, and youri darkness [be] as the noonday:
11And the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) shall guide youi continually, and satisfy youri soul in drought, and make fat youri bones: and youi shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12And [they that shall be] of youi shall build the old waste places: youi shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and youi shall be called, The repairer of the breach (breaking forth; a break; opening, inlet), The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13If youi turn away youri foot from the Shabbat [Rest], [from] doing youri pleasure on my holy day; and call the Shabbat [Rest] a delight, the holy of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), honourable; and shall honour him, not doing youri own ways, nor finding youri own pleasure, nor speaking [youri own] words:
14Then shall youi delight yourself in the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate); and I will cause youi to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed youi with the heritage of Ya’akov [Heal of God] youri father: for the mouth of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) has spoken [it].

True Fasting
1“Cry out loudly, don’t hold back!
Raise your voice like a ram’s horn.
Tell my people their transgression
and the house of Jacob their sins.
2They seek me day after day
and delight to know my ways,
like a nation that does what is right
and does not abandon the justice of their God.
They ask me for righteous judgments;
they delight in the nearness of God.”#Ps 119:151; Is 29:13; 57:3; Jms 4:8

to bow his head like a reed,
and to spread out sackcloth and ashes?#Est 4:3; Dn 9:3
