Isaiah 33
33
1Woe to youi that spoil (plunder; prey; booty), and youi [were] not spoiled; and deal treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with youi! when youi shall cease to spoil (plunder; prey; booty), youi shall be spoiled; [and] when youi shall make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with youi.
2O Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate), be gracious unto us; we have waited for youi: be youi their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3At the noise of the tumult the people fled; at the lifting up of yourself the nations were scattered.
4And your spoil (plunder; prey; booty) shall be gathered [like] the gathering of the caterpillar: as the running to and fro of locusts shall he run upon them.
5The Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) is exalted; for he dwells on high: he has filled Tziyon [parched place] with judgment and righteousness.
6And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of youri times, [and] strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) [is] his treasure.
7Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.
8The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceases: he has broken the covenant, he has despised the cities, he regards no man.
9The earth mourns [and] languishes: L’vanon [Whiteness] is ashamed [and] cut down: Sharon [a plain] is like a wilderness; and Bashan [Fruitful] and Carmel [Garden-land] shake off [their fruits].
10Now will I rise, says the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate); now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.
11You2f shall conceive chaff, you2f shall bring forth stubble: your breath, [as] fire, shall devour you.
12And the people shall be [as] the burnings of lime: [as] thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire.
13Hear, you2f [that are] far off, what I have done; and, you2f [that are] near, acknowledge my might.
14The sinners in Tziyon [parched place] are afraid; fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
15He that walks righteously, and speaks uprightly; he that despises the gain of oppressions, that shakes his hands from holding of bribes, that stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil;
16He shall dwell on high: his place of defense [shall be] the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters [shall be] sure.
17Your1s eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.
18Your1s heart shall meditate terror. Where [is] the scribe? where [is] the receiver? where [is] he that counted the towers?
19youi shall not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than youi can perceive; of a stammering tongue, [that youi can] not understand.
20Look upon Tziyon [parched place], the city of our solemnities: youri eyes shall see Yerushalayim [Foundation of Peace] a quiet habitation, a tabernacle [that] shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21But there the glorious Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) [will be] unto us a place of broad rivers [and] streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22For the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) [is] our judge, the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) [is] our lawgiver, the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) [is] our king; he will save us.
23Your1s tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil (plunder; prey; booty) divided; the lame take the prey.
24And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell in it [shall be] forgiven [their] iniquity.

The Lord Rises Up
1Woe, you destroyer never destroyed,

Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
10“Now I will rise up,”#Ps 12:5; Is 2:19,21 says the Lord.

12The peoples will be burned to ashes,
like thorns cut down and burned in a fire.
13You who are far off, hear what I have done;
you who are near,#Is 18:2; Eph 2:17 know my strength.”
14The sinners in Zion are afraid;
trembling seizes the ungodly:
“Who among us can dwell with a consuming fire?#Is 30:27,30; 66:15; Heb 12:29
Who among us can dwell with ever-burning flames?”#Is 66:24
15The one who lives righteously
and speaks rightly,#Ps 15:2; 24:4; Is 58:6–11

its tent pegs will not be pulled up
nor will any of its cords be loosened.#Is 54:2

a place of rivers and broad streams
where ships that are rowed will not go,
and majestic vessels will not pass.#Is 41:18; 43:19–20; 48:18; 66:12
22For the Lord is our Judge,

23Your ropes are slack;
they cannot hold the base of the mast
or spread out the flag.
Then abundant spoil will be divided,

will be forgiven#Is 40:2; 44:22; Jr 50:20; Mc 7:18–19; 1Jn 1:7–9 their iniquity.#Is 13:11
