Isaiah 21

21
1The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through; [so] it comes from the desert, from a terrible land.
2A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer deals treacherously, and the spoiler spoils. Go up, O ‘Eilam [eternity]: besiege, O Madai [middle land]; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
3Therefore are my waist filled with pain: pangs (extreme sharp pains) have taken hold upon me, as the pangs (extreme sharp pains) of a woman that travails: I was bowed down at the hearing [of it]; I was dismayed at the seeing [of it].
4My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure has he turned into fear unto me.
5Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, you2f princes, [and] anoint the shield.
6For thus has the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.
7And he saw a chariot [with] a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, [and] a chariot of camels; and he listened diligently with much heed:
8And he cried, A lion: My lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things], I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward (in custody, with a guard; prison) whole nights:
9And, behold, here comes a chariot of men, [with] a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Bavel (to jumble, or a confused medley of sounds; confusion; gate of the deity) (Babylon) [confusion] is fallen! is fallen! and all the graven images of her gods He has broken unto the ground.
10O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) Tz’va’ot [of the Heavenly Armies], the God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God], have I declared unto you.
11The burden of Dumah [Silence]. He calls to me out of Se’ir [Shaggy], Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
12The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night: if you2f will enquire, enquire you2f: return, come.
13The burden upon Arabia [steppe-dwellers]. In the forest in Arabia [steppe-dwellers] shall you2f lodge, O you2f travelling companies of D’danim [low country].
14The inhabitants of the land of Teima [desert] brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled.
15For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
16For thus has the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an employee (hired laborer), and all the glory of Kedar [dark] shall fail:
17And the residue (part that remains, the rest) of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar [dark], shall be diminished: for the Lord-Yehōvah (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel Of God] has spoken [it].
