Isaiah 62
62
1I can't remain silent because of my love for Zion, I can't keep quiet because of my love for Jerusalem, until her integrity shines like a beam of light, until her salvation blazes like a burning torch. 2The nations will see the way you live right, and all the kings will see how you are blessed, and you will be called by a new name that the Lord gives you. 3You will be a crown of beauty in the Lord's hand; a royal head-dress in the hand of your God. 4You won't be called Abandoned anymore; your land won't be called Desolate. Instead you will be called She Makes Me Happy, and your land will be called Married, because you make the Lord happy, and your land will be married.#62:4. The literal names are Hephzibah and Beulah. Hephzibah was actually the name of Hezekiah's queen, and Beulah became a symbolic name for Jerusalem. 5For just like a young man marries a young woman, so your sons will marry you; and like a groom is happy with his bride, so your God will be happy with you.
6I have placed watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they won't ever be silent, day or night.#62:6. It was the duty of watchmen to regularly give a report by calling out. In this case it could be the prophets who are represented as Jerusalem's watchmen. You who pray to the Lord, don't ever stop and take a rest. 7Don't give the Lord a rest either, until he finishes his work, until he makes Jerusalem the most praiseworthy place on earth. 8The Lord has made a solemn promise, swearing by his power and might: I won't ever again let your enemies have your grain to eat, or let foreigners drink the new wine you worked hard for.
9Instead, those who harvest the grain will eat it and praise the Lord, and those who harvest the grapes for the wine will drink it in the courts of my Temple.
10Exit! Exit through the gates! Clear the way for the people! Build the highway! Get rid of any rocks on the road! Lift up a flag so the nations can see!#62:10. The imagery of this verse is taken to represent the people leaving Babylon. 11See! The Lord has announced to everyone on earth, Tell the Daughter of Zion: Look! Your Savior is coming. He's bringing his reward with him, coming to give his gift! 12They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the Lord; and you will be called the Sought-After Place, A City No Longer Abandoned.

Isaiah 62
1¶ For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace; and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her saving health is lit as a flaming torch.
2And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness and all the kings thy glory; and thou shalt be given a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.
3Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4Thou shalt no longer be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any longer be termed Desolate; but thou shalt be called Hephzibah {Heb. my will in her} and thy land Beulah; {Heb. married} for the will of the Lord shall be in thee, and thy land shall be married.
5For as a young man marries a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoices with the bride, so shall thy God rejoice with thee.
6¶ I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night; ye that make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent
7and give him no rest, until he establishes and until he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8The Lord has sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no longer give thy wheat to be food for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for which thou hast laboured:
9But those that have gathered it shall eat it and praise the Lord; and those that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.
10¶ Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; clear up, clear up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a banner as an example for the people.
11Behold, the Lord has caused it to be heard unto the end of the earth; Say unto the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy Saviour comes; behold that his reward is with him, and his work before him.
12And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord; and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
