Isaiah 15
15
1A message about Moab. The town of Ar in Moab is devastated, destroyed in a single night! The town of Kir in Moab is devastated, destroyed in a single night! 2The people of Dibon go up to their temple to weep at its high places. The Moabites weep over the towns of Nebo and Medeba. Every head has been shaved, every beard has been cut off in mourning. 3They wear sackcloth in their streets. On the rooftops and in the open squares they all weep, falling down crying. 4The people of Heshbon and Elealeh cry out in sadness, their voices heard as far as Jahaz. That's why even the bravest soldiers of Moab shout—because they're so terrified.
5I weep over Moab. Moabite refugees run all the way to Zoar and to Eglath-shelishiyah. Weeping they go up Luhith hill; crying for their destruction they walk along the road to Horonaim. 6The waters of Nimrim have all dried up. The grass is withered, all the vegetation has disappeared—nothing green is left. 7Everything they had gained, all their possessions, they have to carry across Willow River. 8Their cry of grief echoes through the whole country of Moab; their wailing and mourning extends all the way from Eglaim to Beer-elim. 9River Dimon#15:9. Or “Dibon.” is full of blood, but I will bring more upon the town of Dimon—a lion to attack the Moabite refugees and those who are left in the country.

Chapter 15
A message about Moab
1This is a message about Moab:
In one night an enemy has destroyed Ar.
In one night they have destroyed Kir.
Those towns in Moab are now a heap of stones!
2The people in Dibon have gone up to their temple to weep. They have gone up to the altars where they worship their gods. Moab's people are weeping because of what has happened at Nebo and Medeba. They are so upset that they have cut off their hair and their beards. 3They are wearing rough sackcloth in the streets. On the roofs of their houses and in the open places in their towns, they are weeping. They fall to the ground as they weep.
4The people in Heshbon and Elealeh cry aloud. People as far as Jahaz hear the sound of their voices! The soldiers of Moab cry aloud because they are afraid. They are shaking with fear.
5I am very upset because of what is happening to Moab's people. They are running away, as far as Zoar and Eglath-Shelishiyah.
They weep while they climb up the hill to Luhith.
On the road to Horonaim they shout aloud,
‘An enemy has destroyed us!’
6Streams in Nimrim valley have become dry.
The grass has died. No green plants remain.
7So Moab's people are leaving.
They are going across Willow stream.
They are carrying away their things
and the food that they had stored.
8Everywhere in Moab's country the people are calling out for help.
The noise of their sad songs has reached Eglaim and Beer-Elim.
9Blood fills the streams of Dimon.
But I, the Lord, will cause even more trouble to happen there.
A lion is ready to attack!
Those who are trying to escape will die,
as well as those who remain in the land.
