Fountains of Delight
A prophetic song composed by the prophetic singers of Korah’s clan
1High upon his hills of holiness stands God’s city. # 87:1 The Aramaic reads “His foundations are in his holy mountains.”
2How God loves the gates of Zion, his favorite place on earth. # 87:2 Or “The Lord loves Zion’s gates more than all the dwelling places of Jacob.”
3So many glorious things have been proclaimed
over Zion, God’s holy city!
Pause in his presence
4For the Lord says, “Here are the nations
who will acknowledge me as God: # 87:4 This is in anticipation of the nations of the earth coming to know Christ as the eternal King. See Ps. 86:9.
Egypt, # 87:4 Or “the proud one,” which is a title given to Egypt. Iraq, # 87:4 Or “Babylon,” which means “gate of God.” Palestine, # 87:4 Or “Philistia,” which means “land of sojourners.” and the Mediterranean people, # 87:4 Or “Tyre,” which means “a rock.”
even distant Ethiopia.
They will all boast, ‘I was born in Zion!’ ”
5But over Zion it will be said,
“The mighty Man was born there, and he will establish it.” # 87:5 As translated from the Aramaic. The Hebrew reads “Each one is born in Zion, and the Most High makes her secure.”
For the God Most High will truly bless Jerusalem.
6And when he counts her citizens, recording them in his registry,
he will write by their names: “This one was born again here!”
Pause in his presence
7And the princes of God’s feasts will sing and dance, # 87:7 As translated from the Aramaic. singing,
“Every fountain of delight springs up from your life within me!”

A Psalm (sacred song about or to God) [or] Song for the sons of Korakh [Bald].
1His foundation [is] in the holy mountains.
2The Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] loves the gates of Tziyon [Parched Place] more than all the dwellings of Ya’akov [Heel of God].
3Glorious things are spoken of youi, O city of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]. Selah [stop and diligently consider what was just said].
4I will make mention of Rachav (Violence) and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tzor [A Rock] (Tyre), with Ethiopia [Kush]; this [man] was born there.
5And of Tziyon [Parched Place] it shall be said, This and that man was born in her: and the highest himself shall establish her.
6The Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] shall count, when he writes up the people, [that] this [man] was born there. Selah [stop and diligently consider what was just said].
7As well the singers as the players on instruments [shall be there]: all my springs [are] in youi.
