He Healed Me
King David’s poetic praise to God
A song for the Feast of Dedication of the dwelling place
1Lord, I will exalt you and lift you high,
for you have lifted me up on high!
Over all my boasting, gloating enemies,
you made me to triumph.
2O Lord, my healing God,
I cried out for a miracle and you healed me!
3You brought me back from the brink of death,
from the depths below.
Now here I am, alive and well, fully restored!
4O sing and make melody, you steadfast lovers of God.
Give thanks to him every time you reflect on his holiness!
5I’ve learned that his anger lasts for a moment,
but his loving favor lasts a lifetime! # 30:5 The Septuagint reads “There is wrath in his anger but life in his will [promise].”
We may weep through the night,
but at daybreak it will turn into shouts of ecstatic joy.
6-7I remember boasting, “I’ve got it made!
Nothing can stop me now!
I’m God’s favored one; he’s made me steady as a mountain!”
But then suddenly, you hid your face from me.
I was panic-stricken and became depressed.
8Still I cried out to you, Lord God. I shouted out for mercy, saying,
9“What would you gain in my death,
if I were to go down to the depths of darkness?
Will a grave sing your song?
How could death’s dust declare your faithfulness?”
10So hear me now, Lord; show me your famous mercy.
O God, be my Savior and rescue me!
11Then he broke through and transformed all my wailing
into a whirling dance of ecstatic praise!
He has torn the veil and lifted from me
the sad heaviness of mourning.
He wrapped me in the glory-garments of gladness.
12How could I be silent when it’s time to praise you?
Now my heart sings out, bursting with joy—
a bliss inside that keeps me singing,
“I can never thank you enough!”

A Psalm (sacred song about or to God) [and] Song [at] the dedication of the house of David [Beloved].
1I will extol (to lift up; to praise; to esteem) youi, O Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate]; for youi have lifted me up, and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2O Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] my God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], I cried unto youi, and youi have healed me.
3O Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], youi have brought up my soul from the grave: youi have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4Sing unto the Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], O you2f saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
5For his anger [endures but] a moment; in his favour [is] life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy [cometh] in the morning.
6And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.
7Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], by youri favour youi have made my mountain to stand strong: youi did hide youri face, [and] I was troubled.
8I cried to youi, O Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate]; and unto the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] I made supplication.
9What profit [is there] in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise youi? shall it declare youri truth?
10Hear, O Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], and have mercy upon me: Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate], be youi my helper.
11youi have turned for me my mourning into dancing: youi have put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
12To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to youi, and not be silent. O Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] my God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], I will give thanks unto youi forever.
