Psalm 63
Praise God Who Satisfies
A psalm of David. When he was in the Wilderness of Judah.#2Sm 16:14; 17:2,29
1God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you.
I thirst for you;
my body faints for you
in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water.#Ps 42:2; Is 26:9
2So I gaze on you in the sanctuary
to see your strength and your glory.#Jb 19:26–27; Ps 17:15; 27:4
3My lips will glorify you
because your faithful love is better than life.#Ps 69:16
4So I will bless you as long as I live;
at your name, I will lift up my hands.#Ps 28:2; 143:6; Lm 3:41
5You satisfy me as with rich food;#63:5 Lit with fat and fatness#Ps 36:8
my mouth will praise you with joyful lips.#Ps 71:23
6When I think of you as I lie on my bed,
I meditate on you during the night watches#Ps 77:6; 119:148
7because you are my helper;#Ps 27:9; 40:17
I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.#Ps 17:8; 36:7; 57:1
8I follow close to you;
your right hand holds on to me.#Ps 18:35
9But those who intend to destroy my life
will go into the depths of the earth.#Ps 55:15; Ezk 26:20; 31:14–18
10They will be given over to the power of the sword;#Jr 18:21; Ezk 35:5
they will become a meal for jackals.
11But the king will rejoice in God;#Ps 21:1
all who swear by him will boast,
for the mouths of liars will be shut.#Ps 107:42; Rm 3:19
