PSALM 96
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1O sing a new song to the Lord:
sing all the earth to God.
2To God sing, bless his name, shew still
his saving health abroad.
3Among the heathen nations
his glory do declare;
And unto all the people shew
his works that wondrous are.
4For great's the Lord,
and greatly he is to be magnify'd;
Yea, worthy to be fear'd is he
above all gods beside.
5For all the gods are idols dumb,
which blinded nations fear;
But our God is the Lord, by whom
the heav'ns created were.
6Great honour is before his face,
and majesty divine;
Strength is within his holy place,
and there doth beauty shine.
7Do ye ascribe unto the Lord,
of people ev'ry tribe,
Glory do ye unto the Lord,
and mighty pow'r ascribe.
8Give ye the glory to the Lord
that to his name is due;
Come ye into his courts, and bring
an offering with you.
9In beauty of his holiness,
O do the Lord adore;
Likewise let all the earth throughout
tremble his face before.
10Among the heathen say, God reigns;
the world shall stedfastly
Be fix'd from moving; he shall judge
the people righteously.
11Let heav'ns be glad before the Lord,
and let the earth rejoice;
Let seas, and all that is therein,
cry out, and make a noise.
12Let fields rejoice, and ev'ry thing
that springeth of the earth:
Then woods and ev'ry tree shall sing
with gladness and with mirth
13Before the Lord; because he comes,
to judge the earth comes he:
He'll judge the world with righteousness,
the people faithfully.

Psalms 96
96
Praise for God’s Glory
1Sing to the Lord a new song.
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2Sing to the Lord and praise his name.
Every day tell how he saves us.
3Tell the nations of his glory.
Tell all peoples the miracles he does.
4The Lord is great; he should be praised.
He should be honored more than all the gods.
5All the gods of the nations are only idols.
But the Lord made the skies.
6The Lord has glory and majesty.
He has power and beauty in his Temple.
7Praise the Lord, all nations on earth.
Praise the Lord’s glory and power.
8Praise the glory of the Lord’s name.
Bring an offering and come into his Temple courtyards.
9Worship the Lord because he is holy.
The whole earth should tremble before the Lord.
10Tell the nations, “The Lord is king.”
The earth is set, and it cannot be moved.
He will judge the people fairly.
11Let the skies rejoice and the earth be glad.
Let the sea and everything in it shout.
12Let the fields and everything in them show their joy.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy.
13They will sing before the Lord because he is coming.
He is coming to judge the world.
He will judge the world with fairness
and the nations with truth.
