PSALM 95
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1O come, let us sing to the Lord:
come, let us ev'ry one
A joyful noise make to the Rock
of our salvation.
2Let us before his presence come
with praise and thankful voice;
Let us sing psalms to him with grace,
and make a joyful noise.
3For God, a great God, and great King,
above all gods he is.
4Depths of the earth are in his hand,
the strength of hills is his.
5To him the spacious sea belongs,
for he the same did make;
The dry land also from his hands
its form at first did take.
6O come, and let us worship him,
let us bow down withal,
And on our knees before the Lord
our Maker let us fall.
7For he's our God, the people we
of his own pasture are,
And of his hand the sheep; to-day,
if ye his voice will hear,
8Then harden not your hearts, as in
the provocation,
As in the desert, on the day
of the tentation:
9When me your fathers tempt'd and prov'd,
and did my working see;
10Ev'n for the space of forty years
this race hath grieved me.
I said, This people errs in heart,
my ways they do not know:
11To whom I sware in wrath, that to
my rest they should not go.

A Song of Praise
1Come, let us praise the LORD!
Let us sing for joy to God, who protects us!
2Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and sing joyful songs of praise.
3For the LORD is a mighty God,
a mighty king over all the gods.
4He rules over the whole earth,
from the deepest caves to the highest hills.
5He rules over the sea, which he made;
the land also, which he himself formed.
6Come, let us bow down and worship him;
let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!

Heb 3.7–11
He is our God;
we are the people he cares for,
the flock for which he provides.
Listen today to what he says:

Ex 17.1–7; Num 20.2–13 “Don't be stubborn, as your ancestors were at Meribah,
as they were that day in the desert at Massah.
9There they put me to the test and tried me,
although they had seen what I did for them.
10For forty years I was disgusted with those people.
I said, ‘How disloyal they are!
They refuse to obey my commands.’

Num 14.20–23; Deut 1.34–36; 12.9–10; Heb 4.3–5 I was angry and made a solemn promise:
‘You will never enter the land
where I would have given you rest.’ ”
