PSALM 87
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah.
1Upon the hills of holiness
he his foundation sets.
2God, more than Jacob's dwellings all,
delights in Sion's gates.
3Things glorious are said of thee,
thou city of the Lord.
4Rahab and Babel I, to those
that know me, will record:
Behold ev'n Tyrus, and with it
the land of Palestine,
And likewise Ethiopia;
this man was born therein.
5And it of Sion shall be said,
This man and that man there
Was born; and he that is most High
himself shall stablish her.
6When God the people writes, he'll count
that this man born was there.
7There be that sing and play; and all
my well-springs in thee are.

God Loves Jerusalem
A song. A psalm of the sons of Korah.
1The Lord built Jerusalem on the holy mountain.
2He loves its gates more than any other place in Israel.
3City of God,
wonderful things are said about you.Selah
4God says, “I will put Egypt and Babylonia
on the list of nations that know me.
People from Philistia, Tyre, and Cush
will be born there.”
5They will say about Jerusalem,
“This one and that one were born there.
God Most High will strengthen her.”
6The Lord will keep a list of the nations.
He will note, “This person was born there.”Selah
7They will dance and sing,
“All good things come from Jerusalem.”
