Psalms 87

PSALM 87
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
A Psalm or Song for the sons of Korah.
1Upon the hills of holiness
he his foundation sets.
2God, more than Jacob's dwellings all,
delights in Sion's gates.
3Things glorious are said of thee,
thou city of the Lord.
4Rahab and Babel I, to those
that know me, will record:
Behold ev'n Tyrus, and with it
the land of Palestine,
And likewise Ethiopia;
this man was born therein.
5And it of Sion shall be said,
This man and that man there
Was born; and he that is most High
himself shall stablish her.
6When God the people writes, he'll count
that this man born was there.
7There be that sing and play; and all
my well-springs in thee are.

PSALM 87
1 The psalm of the song of the sons of Korah. The foundaments thereof be in holy hills;
2the Lord loveth the gates of Zion, more than all the tabernacles of Jacob.
3Thou city of God, without end; glorious things be said of thee.
4I shall be mindful of Rahab, and Babylon; knowing me. Lo! aliens, and Tyre, and the people of Ethiopians; they were there.
5Whether a man shall say to Zion, And a man is born therein; and that man, alder Highest, founded it?
6The Lord shall tell in the scriptures of these peoples; and of these princes, that were therein.
7As the dwelling of all that be glad; is in thee.
