Psalms 68

PSALM 68
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
To the chief Musician,
A Psalm or Song of David.
1Let God arise, and scatterèd
let all his en'mies be;
And let all those that do him hate
before his presence flee.
2As smoke is driv'n, so drive thou them;
as fire melts wax away,
Before God's face let wicked men
so perish and decay.
3But let the righteous be glad:
let them before God's sight
Be very joyful; yea, let them
rejoice with all their might.
4To God sing, to his name sing praise;
extol him with your voice,
That rides on heav'n, by his name Jah,
before his face rejoice.
5Because the Lord a father is
unto the fatherless;
God is the widow's judge, within
his place of holiness.
6God doth the solitary set
in fam'lies: and from bands
The chain'd doth free; but rebels do
inhabit parched lands.
7O God, what time thou didst go forth
before thy people's face;
And when through the great wilderness
thy glorious marching was;
8Then at God's presence shook the earth,
then drops from heaven fell;
This Sinai shook before the Lord,
the God of Israel.
9O God, thou to thine heritage
didst send a plenteous rain,
Whereby thou, when it weary was,
didst it refresh again.
10Thy congregation then did make
their habitation there:
Of thine own goodness for the poor,
O God, thou didst prepare.
11The Lord himself did give the word,
the word abroad did spread;
Great was the company of them
the same who published.
12Kings of great armies foiled were,
and forced to flee away;
And women, who remained at home,
did distribute the prey.
13Though ye have lien among the pots,
like doves ye shall appear,
Whose wings with silver, and with gold
whose feathers covered are.
14When there th' Almighty scatter'd kings,
like Salmon's snow 'twas white.
15God's hill is like to Bashan hill,
like Bashan hill for height.
16Why do ye leap, ye mountains high?
this is the hill where God
Desires to dwell; yea, God in it
for aye will make abode.
17God's chariots twenty thousand are,
thousands of angels strong;
In's holy place God is, as in
mount Sinai, them among.
18Thou hast, O Lord, most glorious,
ascended up on high;
And in triumph victorious led
captive captivity:
Thou hast received gifts for men,
for such as did rebel;
Yea, ev'n for them, that God the Lord
in midst of them might dwell.
19Blessed be the Lord, who is to us
of our salvation God;
Who daily with his benefits
us plenteously doth load.
20He of salvation is the God,
who is our God most strong;
And unto God the Lord from death
the issues do belong.
21But surely God shall wound the head
of those that are his foes;
The hairy scalp of him that still
on in his trespass goes.
22God said, My people I will bring
again from Bashan hill;
Yea, from the sea's devouring depths
them bring again I will;
23That in the blood of enemies
thy foot imbrued may be,
And of thy dogs dipped in the same
the tongues thou mayest see.
24Thy goings they have seen, O God;
the steps of majesty
Of my God, and my mighty King,
within the sanctuary.
25Before went singers, players next
on instruments took way;
And them among the damsels were
that did on timbrels play.
26Within the congregations
bless God with one accord:
From Isr'el's fountain do ye bless
and praise the mighty Lord.
27With their prince, little Benjamin,
princes and council there
Of Judah were, there Zabulon's
and Napht'li's princes were.
28Thy God commands thy strength; make strong
what thou wrought'st for us, Lord.
29For thy house at Jerusalem
kings shall thee gifts afford.
30The spearmen's host, the multitude
of bulls, which fiercely look,
Those calves which people have forth sent,
O Lord our God, rebuke,
Till ev'ry one submit himself,
and silver pieces bring:
The people that delight in war
disperse, O God and King.
31Those that be princes great shall then
come out of Egypt lands;
And Ethiopia to God
shall soon stretch out her hands.
32O all ye kingdoms of the earth,
sing praises to this King;
For he is Lord that ruleth all,
unto him praises sing.
33To him that rides on heav'ns of heav'ns,
which he of old did found;
Lo, he sends out his voice, a voice
in might that doth abound.
34Strength unto God do ye ascribe;
for his excellency
Is over Israel, his strength
is in the clouds most high.
35Thou'rt from thy temple dreadful, Lord;
Isr'el's own God is he,
Who gives his people strength and pow'r:
O let God blessed be.

To the Heavenly Worship Leader, A Psalm (sacred song about or to God) [or] Song of David [Beloved].
1Let God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
2As smoke is driven away, [so] drive [them] away: as grow (become; advance) melts before the fire, [so] let the wicked perish at the presence of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].
3But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.
4Sing unto God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], sing praises to his name: extol (to lift up; to praise; to esteem) him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
5A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, [is] God- Yah [Behold The Hand] (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) in his holy habitation.
6God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] sets the solitary in families: he brings out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry [land].
7O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], when youi went forth before youri people, when youi did march through the wilderness; Selah [stop and diligently consider what was just said]:
8The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: [even] Sinai itself [was moved] at the presence of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], the God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel of God].
9youi, O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], did send a plentiful rain, whereby youi did confirm youri inheritance, when it was weary.
10Your1s congregation has dwelt therein: youi, O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], have prepared of youri goodness for the poor.
11The Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] gave the word: great [was] the company of those that published [it].
12Kings of armies did flee apace (at a quick pace; quickly): and she that tarried at home divided the spoil (plunder; prey; booty).
13Though you2f have lien among the pots, [yet shall you2f be as] the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold.
14When the Almighty scattered kings in it, it was [white] as snow in Salmon.
15The hill of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] [is as] the hill of Bashan [Fruitful]; an high hill [as] the hill of Bashan [Fruitful].
16Why leap you2f, you2f high hills? [this is] the hill [which] God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] desires to dwell in; yea, the Lord-Yehōvah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] will dwell [in it] forever.
17The chariots of God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] [are] twenty thousand, [even] thousands of angels: the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] [is] among them, [as in] Sinai, in the holy [place].
18youi have ascended on high, youi have led captivity captive: youi have received gifts for men; yea, [for] the rebellious also, that the Lord- Yah [Behold The Hand] (Messiah Pre-Incarnate) God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] might dwell [among them].
19Blessed (Favored by God; happy; prosperous) [be] the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things], [who] daily loads us [with benefits, even] the God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of our salvation. Selah [stop and diligently consider what was just said].
20 [He that is] our God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] [is] the God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] [belong] the issues from death.
21But God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] shall wound the head of his enemies, [and] the hairy scalp of such an one as goes on still in his trespasses.
22The Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things] said, I will bring again from Bashan [Fruitful], I will bring [my people] again from the depths of the sea:
23That youri foot may be dipped in the blood of [youri] enemies, [and] the tongue of youri dogs in the same.
24They have seen youri goings, O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]; [even] the goings of my God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], my King, in the sanctuary.
25The singers went before, the players on instruments [followed] after; among [them were] the damsels playing with timbrels.
26Bless you2f God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] in the congregations, [even] the Lord [Yehovah], from the fountain of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel of God].
27There [is] little Binyamin [Son of the Right Hand/Strength] [with] their ruler, the princes of Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised] [and] their council, the princes of Z’vulun [Glorious Dwelling Place], [and] the princes of Naftali [My Wrestling].
28Your2s God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] has commanded youri strength: strengthen, O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], that which youi have wrought for us.
29Because of youri temple at Yerushalayim [Foundation Of Peace] shall kings bring presents unto youi.
30Rebuke (reprimand; strongly warn; restrain) the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, [till every one] submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter youi the people [that] delight in war.
31Princes shall come out of Mitzrayim [Egypt - The Narrow Place]; Ethiopia [Kush] shall soon stretch out her hands unto God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].
32Sing unto God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], you2f kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord-Adonai (The Father) [Greatest Above All Things]; Selah [stop and diligently consider what was just said]:
33To him that rides upon the heavens of heavens, [which were] of old; lo, he does send out his voice, [and that] a mighty voice.
34Ascribe you2f strength unto God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: his excellency [is] over Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel of God], and his strength [is] in the clouds.
35O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], [youi are] terrible out of youri holy places: the God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] of Yisra’el [He Holds Onto The Heel of God] [is] he that gives strength and power unto [his] people. Blessed (Favored by God; happy; prosperous) [be] God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].
