PSALM 60
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
To the chief Musician upon Shushan-eduth,
Michtam of David, to teach; when he strove with Aram-naharaim, and with Aram-zobah, when Joab returned and smote of Edom, in the valley of Salt, twelve thousand.
1O Lord, thou hast rejected us,
and scatter'd us abroad;
Thou justly hast displeased been;
return to us, O God.
2The earth to tremble thou hast made;
therein didst breaches make:
Do thou thereof the breaches heal,
because the land doth shake.
3Unto thy people thou hard things hast shew'd,
and on them sent;
And thou hast caused us to drink
wine of astonishment.
4And yet a banner thou hast giv'n
to them who thee do fear;
That it by them, because of truth,
displayed may appear.
5That thy beloved people may
deliver'd be from thrall,
Save with the pow'r of thy right hand,
and hear me when I call.
6God in his holiness hath spoke;
herein I will take pleasure:
Shechem I will divide, and forth
will Succoth's valley measure.
7Gilead I claim as mine by right;
Manasseh mine shall be;
Ephraim is of mine head the strength;
Judah gives laws for me;
8Moab's my washing-pot; my shoe
I'll over Edom throw;
And over Palestina's land
I will in triumph go.
9O who is he will bring me to
the city fortify'd?
O who is he that to the land
of Edom will me guide?
10O God, which hadest us cast off,
this thing wilt thou not do?
Ev'n thou, O God, which didest not
forth with our armies go?
11Help us from trouble; for the help
is vain which man supplies.
12Through God we'll do great acts; he shall
tread down our enemies.

Psalms 60
60
To the Heavenly Worship Leader set to “Testimony of the Lily,” Mikhtam [meaning disputed] of David [Beloved], to teach; when he strove with Aram-Naharayim [Aram of the Two Rivers] and with Aram-Tzovah [Exalted Station; conflict], when Yo’av [Yah is Father] returned, and smote of Edom [Red] in the valley of salt twelve thousand.
1O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], youi have cast us off, youi have scattered us, youi have been displeased; O turn yourself to us again.
2youi have made the earth to tremble; youi have broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shakes.
3youi have showed youri people hard things: youi have made us to drink the wine of astonishment.
4youi have given a banner to them that fear youi, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah [stop and diligently consider what was just said].
5That youri beloved may be delivered; save [with] youri right hand, and hear me.
6God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Sh’khem [Shoulder], and measure (deal out) out the valley of Sukkot [Booths].
7Gil’ad [Rocky Region] [is] mine, and M’nasheh [Causing to Forget] [is] mine; Efrayim [Doubly Fruitful] also [is] the strength of mine head; Y’hudah [Let Him (God) Be Praised] [is] my lawgiver;
8Mo’av [Seed of my Father] [is] my washpot; over Edom [Red] will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph youi because of me.
9Who will bring me [into] the strong city? who will lead me into Edom [Red]?
10 [Will] not youi, O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], [which] had cast us off? and [youi], O God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], [which] did not go out with our armies?
11Give us help from trouble: for vain [is] the help of man.
12Through God-Elōhīm (The Living Word) [The Many Powered] we shall do valiantly: for he [it is that] shall tread down our enemies.
