Psalms 148

PSALM 148
First Version
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1Praise God. From heavens praise the Lord,
in heights praise to him be.
2All ye his angels, praise ye him;
his hosts all, praise him ye.
3O praise ye him, both sun and moon,
praise him, all stars of light.
4Ye heav'ns of heav'ns him praise, and floods
above the heavens' height.
5Let all the creatures praise the name
of our almighty Lord:
For he commanded, and they were
created by his word.
6He also, for all times to come,
hath them establish'd sure;
He hath appointed them a law,
which ever shall endure.
7Praise ye JEHOVAH from the earth,
dragons, and ev'ry deep:
8Fire, hail, snow, vapour, stormy wind,
his word that fully keep.
9All hills and mountains, fruitful trees,
and all ye cedars high:
10Beasts, and all cattle, creeping things,
and all ye birds that fly.
11Kings of the earth, all nations,
princes, earth's judges all:
12Both young men, yea, and maidens too,
old men, and children small.
13Let them God's name praise; for his name
alone is excellent:
His glory reacheth far above
the earth and firmament.
14His people's horn, the praise of all
his saints, exalteth he;
Ev'n Isr'el's seed, a people near
to him. The Lord praise ye.

Psalm 148
The 3rd Hallelujah Psalm #148:1 The psalm has three parts: – Verses 1-6: Everything in the sky should praise the Lord; – Verses 7-10: Everything on the earth should praise the Lord; – Verses 11-14: All people should praise the Lord.
1 Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the sky above!
Praise him high in the heavens.
2Praise him, all his angels.
Praise him all his armies in heaven.
3Praise him, sun and moon.
Praise him, all bright stars.
4Praise him, skies above,
and the water above the sky.
5They should all praise the name of the Lord.
It was his command that created them.
6He has fixed them in their places for all time.
Nothing can change the command that he has given.
7 Praise the Lord from the earth!
Praise him, sea monsters and all the deep seas.
8Praise him, fire and hail, snow and clouds.
Praise him, wind and storm, as you obey his commands.
9Praise him, mountains and all hills.
Praise him fruit trees and all trees in the forests.
10Praise him, wild animals and farm animals.
Praise him, snakes and birds.
11Praise him, kings all over the world,
and people of every nation.
Praise him, princes and all rulers on earth.
12Praise him, young men and young women.
Praise him, old men, as well as children.
13They should all praise the name of the Lord.
Only the Lord's name is great above all other names.
He is the king who rules over heaven and earth.
14He has made his own people strong,
so that other nations respect them.
All the people who serve him should praise him.
They are the Israelite nation, who belong to him.
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
