Psalms 130

PSALM 130
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1Lord, from the depths to thee I cry'd.
2My voice, Lord, do thou hear:
Unto my supplication's voice
give an attentive ear.
3Lord, who shall stand, if thou, O Lord,
should'st mark iniquity?
4But yet with thee forgiveness is,
that fear'd thou mayest be.
5I wait for God, my soul doth wait,
my hope is in his word.
6More than they that for morning watch,
my soul waits for the Lord;
I say, more than they that do watch
the morning light to see.
7Let Israel hope in the Lord,
for with him mercies be;
And plenteous redemption
is ever found with him.
8And from all his iniquities
he Isr'el shall redeem.

Psalms 130
130
A song for going up to the Temple.
1Lord, I am in deep trouble,
so I am calling to you for help.
2My Lord, listen to me.
Listen to my cry for help.
3Lord, if you punished people for all their sins,
no one would be left alive.
4But you forgive people,
so they fear and respect you.
5I am waiting for the Lord to help me.
My soul waits for him.
I trust what he says.
6I am waiting for my Lord,
like a guard waiting and waiting for the morning to come.
7Israel, trust in the Lord.
The Lord is the one who is faithful and true.
He saves us again and again,
8and he is the one who will save the people of Israel from all their sins.
