Psalms 125

PSALM 125
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1They in the Lord that firmly trust
shall be like Sion hill,
Which at no time can be remov'd,
but standeth ever still.
2As round about Jerusalem
the mountains stand alway,
The Lord his folk doth compass so,
from henceforth and for aye.
3For ill men's rod upon the lot
of just men shall not lie;
Lest righteous men stretch
forth their hands unto iniquity.
4Do thou to all those that be good
thy goodness, Lord, impart;
And do thou good to those that are
upright within their heart.
5But as for such as turn aside
after their crooked way,
God shall lead forth with wicked men:
on Isr'el peace shall stay.

Psalms 125

Psalm 125
A Song of degrees.
1¶ Those that trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed but abides for ever.
2As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from now on even for ever.
3For the rod of wickedness shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous because the righteous shall not put forth their hands unto iniquity.
4¶ Do good, O Lord, unto those that are good and to those that are upright in their hearts.
5As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall take them away with the workers of iniquity; and peace shall be upon Israel.
