Psalms 125

PSALM 125
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1They in the Lord that firmly trust
shall be like Sion hill,
Which at no time can be remov'd,
but standeth ever still.
2As round about Jerusalem
the mountains stand alway,
The Lord his folk doth compass so,
from henceforth and for aye.
3For ill men's rod upon the lot
of just men shall not lie;
Lest righteous men stretch
forth their hands unto iniquity.
4Do thou to all those that be good
thy goodness, Lord, impart;
And do thou good to those that are
upright within their heart.
5But as for such as turn aside
after their crooked way,
God shall lead forth with wicked men:
on Isr'el peace shall stay.

Psalms 125
125
Like the Mountains Around Jerusalem
1A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in Adonai are like Mount Zion— it cannot be moved, but endures forever.
2As the mountains are around Jerusalem, so Adonai is all around His people, both now and forever.
3For a scepter of wickedness will not rest over the land of the righteous— lest the righteous set their hands to evil.
4Do good, Adonai, to the good, and to those upright in their hearts.
5But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Adonai will lead them away with evildoers. Shalom be upon Israel.
