PSALM 125
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1They in the Lord that firmly trust
shall be like Sion hill,
Which at no time can be remov'd,
but standeth ever still.
2As round about Jerusalem
the mountains stand alway,
The Lord his folk doth compass so,
from henceforth and for aye.
3For ill men's rod upon the lot
of just men shall not lie;
Lest righteous men stretch
forth their hands unto iniquity.
4Do thou to all those that be good
thy goodness, Lord, impart;
And do thou good to those that are
upright within their heart.
5But as for such as turn aside
after their crooked way,
God shall lead forth with wicked men:
on Isr'el peace shall stay.

PSALM 125
The Lord Surrounds His People.
A Song of #See Psalm 120 title note.Ascents.
1Those who trust in and rely on the Lord [with confident expectation]
Are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever.
2As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
So the Lord surrounds His people
From this time forth and forever.
3For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land of the righteous,
So that the righteous will not reach out their hands to do wrong.
4Do good, O Lord, to those who are good
And to those who are upright in their hearts.
5But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways [in unresponsiveness to God],
The Lord will lead them away with those who do evil.
Peace be upon Israel.
