Psalms 125

PSALM 125
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
1They in the Lord that firmly trust
shall be like Sion hill,
Which at no time can be remov'd,
but standeth ever still.
2As round about Jerusalem
the mountains stand alway,
The Lord his folk doth compass so,
from henceforth and for aye.
3For ill men's rod upon the lot
of just men shall not lie;
Lest righteous men stretch
forth their hands unto iniquity.
4Do thou to all those that be good
thy goodness, Lord, impart;
And do thou good to those that are
upright within their heart.
5But as for such as turn aside
after their crooked way,
God shall lead forth with wicked men:
on Isr'el peace shall stay.

Psalms 125
125
A Song of Ascents.
1Those who trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion,
which cannot be removed, but abides forever.
2#Ps 63:1; 84:2 As the mountains are around Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds His people,
from now and forever.
3#Ps 79:10; 80:5 For the scepter of the wicked shall not rest
upon the land allotted to the righteous,
lest the righteous put forth
their hands to do iniquity.
4#Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8 Do good, O Lord, for those who are good,
and to those who are upright in their hearts.
5#Ps 42:11; 43:5 As for those who turn aside to their twisted ways,
the Lord shall lead them away with the other workers of iniquity.
Peace be upon Israel!
