Psalms 121
121
PSALM 121
Common Meter: 8,6,8,6
A Psalm of Ascents
1I to the hills will lift mine eyes,
from whence doth come mine aid.
2My safety cometh from the Lord,
who heav'n and earth hath made.
3Thy foot he'll not let slide, nor will
he slumber that thee keeps.
4Behold, he that keeps Israel,
he slumbers not, nor sleeps.
5The Lord thee keeps, the Lord thy shade
on thy right hand doth stay:
6The moon by night thee shall not smite,
nor yet the sun by day.
7The Lord shall keep thy soul; he shall
preserve thee from all ill.
8Henceforth thy going out and in
God keep for ever will.

Your Protector will not fall asleep.
4Israel’s Protector does not get tired.
He never sleeps.
5The Lord is your Protector.
The Lord stands by your side, shading and protecting you.
6The sun cannot harm you during the day,
and the moon cannot harm you at night.
7The Lord will protect you from every danger.
He will protect your soul.
8The Lord will protect you as you come and go,#121:8 come and go This may refer to going to war.
