Malachi 4

The Day of the Lord’s Judging
1“There is a day coming that will be like a hot furnace. All the proud and evil people will be like straw. On that day they will be completely burned up. Not a root or branch will be left,” says the Lord of heaven’s armies. 2“But for you who honor me, goodness will shine on you like the sun. There will be healing in its rays. You will jump around, like calves freed from their stalls. 3Then you will crush the wicked. They will be like ashes under your feet. I will do this on that day,” says the Lord of heaven’s armies.
4“Remember the teaching of Moses my servant. I gave those laws and rules to him at Mount Sinai. They are for all the Israelites.
5“But I will send Elijah the prophet to you. He will come before that great and terrible day of the Lord’s judging. 6Elijah will help fathers love their children. And he will help the children love their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and put a curse on the land.”

The day of judgment
The LORD said:
1The day of judgment is certain to come. And it will be like a red-hot furnace with flames that burn up proud and sinful people, as though they were straw. Not a branch or a root will be left. I, the LORD All-Powerful, have spoken! 2But for you who honour my name, victory will shine like the sun with healing in its rays, and you will jump around like calves at play. 3When I come to bring justice, you will trample those who are evil, as though they were ashes under your feet. I, the LORD All-Powerful, have spoken!
4Don't ever forget the laws and teachings I gave my servant Moses on Mount Sinai.#4.4 Sinai: Hebrew “Horeb”.
5I, the LORD, promise to send the prophet Elijah before that great and terrible day comes.#Mt 11.14; 17.10-13; Mk 9.11-13; Lk 1.17; Jn 1.21. 6He will lead children and parents to love each other more, so that when I come, I won't bring doom to the land.
