Mattityahu 1

This is the sefer toldot of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Yehoshua Ben Dovid, Ben Avraham. 2Avraham, then Yitzchak, Yaakov, Yehudah and his brothers; 3then, through Yehudah, Peretz and Zerach by Tamar; then Chetzron, Ram; 4then Amminadav, Nachshon, Salmon; 5then Boaz by Rachav; then Oved by Ruth, then Yishai; 6then Yishai fathered Dovid HaMelech; then Shlomo by the wife of Uriyah; 7then Rechavam, Aviyah, Asa, 8then Yehoshafat, Yoram, Uziyahu; 9then Yotam, Achaz, Chizkiyahu, 10then Mnasheh, Amon, Yoshiyahu, 11then Ykhanyahu and his achim from the days of the Golus in Babylon. 12After Ykhanyahu, then Shaltiel, then Zrubavel, 13then Avichud, then Elyakim, then Azur; 14then Tzadok, then Yakhin, then Elichud; 15then Elazar, then Mattan, then Yaakov. 16Yaakov fathered Yosef, the baal (husband) of Miryam, from whom was born Yehoshua, who is called Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach. [Yochanan 1:49] 17So then, there were arbaa asar (fourteen) dorot (generations) from Avraham to Dovid [T.N. Dovid= DVD in Hebrew = [d = 4, v = 6, d = 4] = (4 + 6 + 4 = 14)], and there were arbaa asar dorot from Dovid to the Golus in Babylon, and there were arbaa asar dorot from the Golus in Babylon to Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach. 18The huledet (birth) of Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach was as follows. When Moshiach's Em, Miryam, had been given in erusin to Yosef [ben Dovid], but before they came together, she was found with child through the Ruach Hakodesh. 19Her shidduch, Yosef [ben Dovid], being a tzaddik and not wanting to humiliate her publicly, planned to deal with the get (divorce) in a private arrangement. 20Now just when Yosef [ben Dovid] had thought through to this tachlis (purpose) hinei! A malach Hashem appeared to him in a chalom, and said, Yosef ben Dovid, do not shrink from taking Miryam in nisuim (marriage) as your [basherte (destined mate) aishes chayil (virtuous woman)] kallah (bride), because what has been conceived in her is through the Ruach Hakodesh. 21And she shall bear BEN (Son) and you will call SHMO (his name, Zech 6:12) YEHOSHUA (Zech 6:11-12) because he will bring his people yeshuah (rescue, salvation, deliverance) from their peyshaim (rebellions). 22Now all this occurred so that which was spoken by Hashem through the Navi might be fulfilled, 23HINEI, HAALMAH HARAH VYOLEDET BEN VKARAT SHMO IMMANU-EL (Behold, the Virgin will be with child and will bear Son and will call his name Immanu-El--Isa 7:14; cf page vii), which translated means G-d is with us. 24Then Yosef [ben Dovid], rising up from sleep, did as the malach Hashem commanded him and he took his kallah. 25And Yosef [ben Dovid] did not know her until she bore BEN and Yosef [Ben Dovid] called him by name of Yehoshua [Ben Dovid][See Baba Bathra 8:6].

The book of the genealogy of יהושע Messiah, Son of Dawiḏ, Son of Aḇraham:
Aḇraham brought forth Yitsḥaq, and Yitsḥaq brought forth Ya‛aqoḇ, and Ya‛aqoḇ brought forth Yehuḏah and his brothers.
And Yehuḏah brought forth Perets and Zeraḥ by Tamar, and Perets brought forth Ḥetsron, and Ḥetsron brought forth Ram.
And Ram brought forth Amminaḏaḇ, and Amminaḏaḇ brought forth Naḥshon, and Naḥshon brought forth Salmon.
And Salmon brought forth Bo‛az by Raḥaḇ, and Bo‛az brought forth Oḇĕḏ by Ruth, and Oḇĕḏ brought forth Yishai.
And Yishai brought forth Dawiḏ the sovereign, and Dawiḏ the sovereign brought forth Shelomoh by Uriyah’s wife.
And Shelomoh brought forth Reḥaḇ‛am,#His mother was an Ammorite. See also 1Kings 14:21; 1Kings 14:31 and Reḥaḇ‛am brought forth Aḇiyah, and Aḇiyah brought forth Asa.
And Asa brought forth Yehoshaphat, and Yehoshaphat brought forth Yoram, and Yoram brought forth Uzziyah.
And Uzziyah brought forth Yotham, and Yotham brought forth Aḥaz, and Aḥaz brought forth Ḥizqiyahu.
And Ḥizqiyahu brought forth Menashsheh, and Menashsheh brought forth Amon, and Amon brought forth Yoshiyahu.
And Yoshiyahu brought forth Yeḵonyah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Baḇel.
And after the exile to Baḇel, Yeḵonyah brought forth She’alti’ĕl, and She’alti’ĕl brought forth Zerubbaḇel.
And Zerubbaḇel brought forth Aḇihuḏ, and Aḇihuḏ brought forth [Aḇner and Aḇner brought forth]#[Aḇner and Aḇner brought forth] appears in the Du Tillit Hebrew text. Elyaqim, and Elyaqim brought forth Azor.
And Azor brought forth Tsaḏoq, and Tsaḏoq brought forth Aqim, and Aqim brought forth Elihuḏ.
And Elihuḏ brought forth El‛azar, and El‛azar brought forth Mattan, and Mattan brought forth Ya‛aqoḇ.
And Ya‛aqoḇ brought forth Yosĕph the husband of Miryam, of whom was born יהושע who is called Messiah.
So all the generations from Aḇraham to Dawiḏ were fourteen generations, and from Dawiḏ until the exile to Baḇel were fourteen generations, and from the exile to Baḇel until the Messiah were fourteen generations.
But the birth of יהושע Messiah was as follows: After His mother Miryam was engaged to Yosĕph, before they came together, she was found to be pregnant from the Set-apart Spirit.
And Yosĕph her husband, being righteous, and not wishing to make a show of her, had in mind to put her away secretly.
But while he thought about this, see, a messenger of יהוה appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Yosĕph, son of Dawiḏ, do not be afraid to take Miryam as your wife, for that which is in her was brought forth from the Set-apart Spirit.
“And she shall give birth to a Son, and you shall call His Name יהושע for He shall save#This is the meaning of the Hebrew of His Name. His people from their sins.
And all this came to be in order to fill what was spoken by יהוה through the prophet, saying,
“See, an ‘almah’#According to the Shem Toḇ Hebrew text and Isa. 7:14 “virgin / young woman”. See also Explanatory Note "Maiden". shall conceive, and she shall give birth to a Son, and they shall call His Name Immanu’ĕl,#Isa. 7:14 which translated, means, “Ěl with us.”
And Yosĕph, awaking from his sleep, did as the messenger of יהוה commanded him and took his wife,
but knew her not until she gave birth to her Son, the first-born. And he called His Name יהושע.
