1This is the Sefer Toldot Adam. In the yom that barah Elohim Adam, in the demut Elohim He made him; 2Zakhar and nekevah He created them; and blessed them, and called the shem of them "Adam," in the yom when they were created. 3And Adam lived a hundred and thirty shanah and fathered in his own demut and after his tzelem (image) and called shmo Shet: 4And the days of Adam after he had fathered Shet were shemoneh me'ot shanah; and he fathered banim and banot: 5And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty shanah: and he died. 6And Shet lived a hundred and five shanah, and fathered Enosh; 7And Shet lived after he fathered Enosh eight hundred and seven shanah, and fathered banim and banot: 8And all the days of Shet were nine hundred and twelve shanah; and he died. 9And Enosh lived ninety shanah, and fathered Kenan; 10And Enosh lived after he fathered Kenan eight hundred and fifteen shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 11And all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five shanim; and he died. 12And Kenan lived seventy shanah and fathered Mahalal'el; 13And Kenan lived after he fathered Mahalal'el eight hundred and forty shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 14And all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten shanim; and he died. 15And Mahalal'el lived sixty and five shanah, and fathered Yered; 16And Mahalal'el lived after he fathered Yered eight hundred and thirty shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 17And all the days of Mahalal'el were eight hundred ninety and five shanah; and he died. 18And Yered lived a hundred sixty and two shanah, and he fathered Chanoch (Enoch): 19And Yered lived after he fathered Chanoch (Enoch) eight hundred shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 20And all the days of Yered were nine hundred sixty and two shanah; and he died. 21And Chanoch lived sixty and five shanah, and fathered Metushelach; 22And Chanoch walked with HaElohim after he fathered Metushelach three hundred shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 23And all the days of Chanoch were three hundred sixty and five shanah; 24And Chanoch walked with HaElohim; and he was not; for Elohim took him. 25And Metushelach lived a hundred eighty and seven shanah, and fathered Lamech. 26And Metushelach lived after he fathered Lamech seven hundred eighty and two shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 27And all the days of Metushelach were nine hundred sixty and nine shanah; and he died. 28And Lamech lived a hundred eighty and two shanah and fathered ben; 29And he called shmo Noach, saying, Zeh yenachamenu (this shall comfort us) in our work and toil of our hands, because of the adamah which Hashem hath cursed. 30And Lamech lived after he fathered Noach five hundred ninety and five shanah, and fathered banim and banot; 31And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven shanah; and he died. 32And Noach was five hundred years old; and Noach fathered Shem, Cham, and Yephet.

The History of Adam’s Family
1This is the history of Adam’s#5:1 Adam This name means “man” or “people.” It is like the word meaning “earth” or “red clay.” family. When God created people, he made them like himself.#5:1 When God … like himself Literally, “He made him in the image of God.” See Gen. 1:27; 5:3. 2He created them male and female. 3After Adam was 130 years old, he had another son. This son looked just like Adam.#5:3 he had … like Adam Or “he fathered a son in his image and likeness.” In Hebrew this is like Gen. 1:27; 5:1. Adam named his son Seth. 4After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5So Adam lived a total of 930 years; then he died.
6After Seth was 105 years old, he had a son named Enosh. 7After Enosh was born, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. 8So Seth lived a total of 912 years; then he died.
9After Enosh was 90 years old, he had a son named Kenan. 10After Kenan was born, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. 11So Enosh lived a total of 905 years; then he died.
12After Kenan was 70 years old, he had a son named Mahalalel. 13After Mahalalel was born, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. 14So Kenan lived a total of 910 years; then he died.
15When Mahalalel was 65 years old, he had a son named Jared. 16After Jared was born, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. 17So Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years; then he died.
18After Jared was 162 years old, he had a son named Enoch. 19After Enoch was born, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20So Jared lived a total of 962 years; then he died.
21After Enoch was 65 years old, he had a son named Methuselah. 22After Methuselah was born, Enoch walked with God for 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23So Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24One day Enoch was walking with God, and he disappeared. God took him.#5:24 Or “Enoch pleased God. Enoch disappeared. God took him.”
25After Methuselah was 187 years old, he had a son named Lamech. 26After Lamech was born, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27So Methuselah lived a total of 969 years; then he died.
28When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son. 29Lamech named his son Noah.#5:29 Noah This name is like the Hebrew word meaning “to rest,” “to be sorry,” or “comfort.” Lamech said, “We work very hard as farmers because God cursed the ground. But Noah will bring us rest.”
30After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31So Lamech lived a total of 777 years; then he died.
32After Noah was 500 years old, he had sons named Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
