1 Corinthians 16
16
1Now, concerning the maamadot (financial contributions) and the pishkeh (pushke) we are circulating throughout the kehillot for the benefit of the Yerushalayim Kedoshim, as I directed the kehillot of Galatia, so you do also.
2Every Yom Rishon#16:2 which begins Motzoei Shabbos by Biblical reckoning, each day being an evening and a morning of each week, each of you by himself make something farnumen (set aside), storing up according to his hakhnasah (income), so that collections need not be made when I come.
3And when I arrive, whomever you approve, these I will send with iggrot to carry your matanah to Yerushalayim.
4And if it is fitting for me also to go, they will go with me.
5And I will come to you whenever I pass through Macedonia, for I will be passing through Macedonia.
6Efsher (perhaps) I will stay with you, or even spend the choref (winter) that you may help me with a send-off wherever I may go.
7For I do not want to see you now in passing, for I have the tikvah to remain some time with you, im yirtzeh Hashem (G-d willing, permitting).
8But, I will remain on in Ephesus until Shavuos,#16:8 Lv 23:15-21; Dt 16:9-11
9For a delet (door) has opened, great and effective, for me, but there are many mitnaggedim (opponents).
10Now if Timotiyos comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for the avodas kodesh of Hashem he labors in as I do.
11Therefore, let not anyone despise him. But give him a send-off in shalom that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the Achim b'Moshiach.
12Now, concerning Apollos the Ach b'Moshiach, I strongly exhorted him, that he would come to you with the Achim b'Moshiach. But he is beshum oifen (absolutely) unwilling to go at this time, but he will come whenever he has an opportunity.
13Watch, stand firm in the#16:13 Orthodox Jewish emunah (faith), be men, be strong.#16:13 Ps 31:24
14Let everything you do be done in ahavah (agape).
15Now, I urge you, Achim b'Moshiach, you have da'as of the bais of Stephanas, that it is the bikkurim of Achaia, and that they have with devotion and zerizut (diligence) put themselves in avodas kodesh ministry for the Kedoshim.
16Become submissive to such as him and to everyone joining in the avodas kodesh and laboring.
17Now, I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and of Fortunatus and of Achaicus, because these men filled up your absence,
18For they refreshed my neshamah and yours. Give recognition to such men.#16:18 1C 14:38
19Drishat Shalom from the Kehillot of Moshiach of Asia. Drishat Shalom warmly in Adoneinu from Aquila and Prisca, together with the Adat Moshiach in their bais.
20Drishat Shalom from all the Achim b'Moshiach. Greet one another with a neshikat hakodesh (holy kiss).
21THIS GREETING WITH MY OWN HAND, SHA'UL.
22If anyone does not have ahavah (love) for HaAdon, Alav ki Cherem hu (a curse of the ban of destruction is on him).#16:22 1C 12:3 Marana (our L-rd), tha (come).
23The Chen v'Chesed Hashem of Moshiach Adoneinu be with you.
24My ahavah be with you all in Moshiach Yehoshua.

The Collection for Jerusalem
1Now regarding your question about the money being collected for God’s people in Jerusalem. You should follow the same procedure I gave to the churches in Galatia. 2On the first day of each week, you should each put aside a portion of the money you have earned. Don’t wait until I get there and then try to collect it all at once. 3When I come, I will write letters of recommendation for the messengers you choose to deliver your gift to Jerusalem. 4And if it seems appropriate for me to go along, they can travel with me.
Paul’s Final Instructions
5I am coming to visit you after I have been to Macedonia,#16:5 Macedonia was in the northern region of Greece. for I am planning to travel through Macedonia. 6Perhaps I will stay awhile with you, possibly all winter, and then you can send me on my way to my next destination. 7This time I don’t want to make just a short visit and then go right on. I want to come and stay awhile, if the Lord will let me. 8In the meantime, I will be staying here at Ephesus until the Festival of Pentecost. 9There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.
10When Timothy comes, don’t intimidate him. He is doing the Lord’s work, just as I am. 11Don’t let anyone treat him with contempt. Send him on his way with your blessing when he returns to me. I expect him to come with the other believers.#16:11 Greek with the brothers; also in 16:12.
12Now about our brother Apollos—I urged him to visit you with the other believers, but he was not willing to go right now. He will see you later when he has the opportunity.
13Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous.#16:13 Greek Be men. Be strong. 14And do everything with love.
15You know that Stephanas and his household were the first of the harvest of believers in Greece,#16:15a Greek in Achaia, the southern region of the Greek peninsula. and they are spending their lives in service to God’s people. I urge you, dear brothers and sisters,#16:15b Greek brothers; also in 16:20. 16to submit to them and others like them who serve with such devotion. 17I am very glad that Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus have come here. They have been providing the help you weren’t here to give me. 18They have been a wonderful encouragement to me, as they have been to you. You must show your appreciation to all who serve so well.
Paul’s Final Greetings
19The churches here in the province of Asia#16:19a Asia was a Roman province in what is now western Turkey. send greetings in the Lord, as do Aquila and Priscilla#16:19b Greek Prisca. and all the others who gather in their home for church meetings. 20All the brothers and sisters here send greetings to you. Greet each other with a sacred kiss.
21 Here is my greeting in my own handwriting—Paul.
22If anyone does not love the Lord, that person is cursed. Our Lord, come!#16:22 From Aramaic, Marana tha. Some manuscripts read Maran atha, “Our Lord has come.”
23May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
24My love to all of you in Christ Jesus.#16:24 Some manuscripts add Amen.
