Isaiah 16
16
1#2Ki 3:4; 14:7 Send the lamb
to the ruler of the land
from Sela by way of the wilderness,
to the mount of the daughter of Zion.
2#Pr 27:8; Jdg 11:18 For it shall be that as a wandering bird
cast out of the nest,
so the daughters of Moab shall be
at the fords of Arnon.
3#1Ki 18:4; Isa 25:4 “Take counsel,
execute justice,
make your shadow as the night
at the height of noon.
Hide the outcasts,
do not betray the fugitive.
4#Isa 14:4; 51:13 Let my outcasts dwell with you, Moab;
be a hiding place to them from the face of the destroyer.”
For the extortioner has come to an end;
the destroyer ceases;
the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5#Da 7:14; Mic 4:7 In mercy the throne shall be established;
and one who judges and seeks justice
and is diligent in righteousness
shall sit on it in truth
in the tabernacle of David, judging.
6#Am 2:1; Jer 48:29–30 We have heard of the pride of Moab;
he is very proud,
even of his haughtiness and his pride and his wrath;
but his lies shall not be so.
7#2Ki 3:25; Jer 48:20 Therefore Moab shall wail for Moab;
everyone shall wail.
For the loss of raisin cakes of Kir Hareseth you shall mourn;
surely they are destroyed.
8#Nu 32:38; Isa 15:4 For the fields of Heshbon languish,
and the vine of Sibmah;
the lords of the nations
have broken down its choice plants;
they have come as far as Jazer
and wandered through the wilderness.
Her branches are stretched out;
they are passed over the sea.
9#Jer 40:12; Isa 15:4–5 Therefore I will weep bitterly for Jazer,
the vine of Sibmah;
I will water you with my tears,
O Heshbon and Elealeh.
For the shouting for your summer fruits
and for your harvest has fallen away.
10#Jer 48:33; Jdg 9:27 Gladness and joy are taken away out of the plentiful field,
and in the vineyards there shall be no singing,
nor shall there be shouting;
the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses.
I have made their vintage shouting to cease.
11#Isa 15:5; 63:15 Therefore my heart shall sound like a harp for Moab,
and my inward parts for Kir Hareseth.
12#Isa 15:2; Nu 22:39 When it is seen that Moab
is weary on the high place,
he shall come to his sanctuary to pray;
but he shall not prevail.
13This is the word that the Lord has spoken earlier concerning Moab. 14#Isa 21:16But now the Lord has spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of a hireling, the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt with all his great population, and his remnant shall be very small and feeble.

Yeshayah (Isaiah) 16
16
1Send a lamb to the ruler of the land, from Sela to the wilderness, to the mountain of the daughter of Tsiyon.
2And it shall be, like a wandering bird, a nest thrown out, so are the daughters of Mo’aḇ at the fords of Arnon.
3“Bring counsel, execute judgment; make your shadow like the night in the middle of the day; hide the outcasts, do not betray him who escapes.
4“Let My outcasts dwell with you, O Mo’aḇ; be a shelter to them from the face of the ravager. For the oppressor has met his end, destruction has ceased, those trampling down have perished from the land.
5“And in loving-commitment the throne shall be established. And One shall sit on it in truth, in the Tent of Dawiḏ, judging and seeking right-ruling, and speeding righteousness.”
6We have heard of the pride of Mo’aḇ – very proud – of his pride, his arrogance and his rage. His boastings are not true.
7So Mo’aḇ wails for Mo’aḇ, everyone wails. For the raisin-cakes of Qir Ḥareseth they moan. They are utterly smitten.
8For the fields of Ḥeshbon languish – the vine of Siḇmah. The masters of the nations have broken down its choice plants, which have reached to Ya‛zĕr and wandered through the wilderness. Her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.
9Therefore I bewail the vine of Siḇmah, with the weeping of Ya‛zĕr. I water you with my tears, O Ḥeshbon and El‛alĕh, for acclamation has fallen over your summer fruit and your harvest.
10Gladness is taken away, and joy from the orchard; in the vineyards there is no singing, nor shouting; No treaders tread out wine in their presses; I have made their acclamation cease.
11Therefore my inward parts sound like a lyre for Mo’aḇ, and my inner being for Qir Ḥeres.
12And it shall be, when it is seen that Mo’aḇ has wearied herself on the high place, that she shall come to her set-apart place to pray, but not be able.
13This is the word which יהוה has spoken concerning Mo’aḇ since that time.
14But now יהוה has spoken, saying, “Within three years, as the years of a hired man, the esteem of Mo’aḇ is to be despised with all its great throng, and the remnant be few, small and weak.”
