Matthew 15
1¶ Then certain scribes and Pharisees of Jerusalem came unto Jesus, saying,
2Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.
3But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
4For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother, and, He that curses father or mother, let him die without recourse.
5But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, Whatever I might have helped thee with is already my offering unto God,
6and now has no need to honour his father or his mother with succour. Thus ye have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth and honours me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
9But in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.
10¶ And calling the multitude unto him, he said unto them, Hear and understand:
11not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.
12Then his disciples came and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this word?
13But he answered and said, Every plant which my heavenly Father has not planted shall be rooted up.
14Let them alone; they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into a pit.
15Then Peter answered and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable.
16And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17Do not ye yet understand that whatever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly and is cast out into the draught?
18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and they defile the man.
19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20these are the things which defile the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.
21¶ Then Jesus left there and departed into the parts of Tyre and Sidon.
22And, behold, a woman of Canaan having come out of the same borders cried unto him, saying, Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me; my daughter is sick, possessed by a demon.
23But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cries out after us.
24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25Then she came and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26But he answered and said, It is not good to take the children’s bread and to cast it to the little dogs.
27And she said, Yes, Lord, yet the little dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith; be it unto thee even as thou desire. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
29¶ And Jesus left there and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee and went up into the mountain and sat down there.
30And many people came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many other sick and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them,
31insomuch that the multitude wondered when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.
32Then Jesus called his disciples unto him and said, I have mercy on the multitude because they persevere with me now three days and have nothing to eat, and I desire not to send them away fasting lest they faint in the way.
33Then his disciples say unto him, From where do we have so much bread in the wilderness as to satisfy so great a multitude?
34And Jesus said unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven and a few little fishes.
35And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
36And he took the seven loaves and the fishes and gave thanks and broke them and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37And they all ate and were filled, and they took up of the broken food that was left seven baskets full.
38And those that ate were four thousand men besides women and children.
39And he sent away the multitude and took ship and came into the borders of Magdala.

Matthew 15
15
1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Yeshua from Jerusalem, saying, 2“Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
3 He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’#Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’#Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9 5But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,” 6he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition. 7You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
8 ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth,
and honor me with their lips;
but their heart is far from me.
9 And they worship me in vain,
teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’” #
Isaiah 29:13
10 He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand. 11That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. 14Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
15 Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”
16 So Yeshua said, “Do you also still not understand? 17Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly and then out of the body? 18But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man. 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies. 20These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”
21Yeshua went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”
23 But he answered her not a word.
His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”
24 But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
26 But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
27 But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Yeshua answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
29Yeshua departed from there and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up on the mountain and sat there. 30Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them, 31so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
32Yeshua summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”
33 The disciples said to him, “Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”
34Yeshua said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”
They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
35 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground; 36and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes. 37They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over. 38Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children. 39Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
